Forza Motorsport Coming to PC

themodernagenb

http://www.ign.com/articles/2016/03/01/forza-motorsport-6-apex-announced-free-to-play-on-pc?abthid=56d5a0729d46f67f30000017

Turn 10 Studios has announced that Forza Motorsport 6 is coming to PC (Windows 10 exclusive of course, what did you expect?) as a free-to-play game.

It's a little different from the original game on Xbox One.

At launch, there will feature 12 themed racing events, more than 60 cars, and a new objective system, which challenges players to complete specific, skill-based tasks for additional in-game currency.

Yes, you earn in-game currency to purchase cars and presumably tracks. Or you can buy them with real money.

Looks like MS is looking at PC as more of a free-to-play model with this and Fable: Legends. Makes sense since it's a low barrier of entry.

I´m hyped for that. But I would rather prefer a normal release, just like on Xbox One, with actually paying for it. I have a slight feeling, that "free-to-play" this time really is "pay-to-win"...

PC really needs this. There are no games like forza or Gran turismo on PC.  Games like dirt rally just don't do it for me like gran turismo. I need the detailed customization options and cars. I used to spend hours tuning the suspension / transmission on my cars. Heck, I shared tones of tunes on various sites. I just hope they don't go through with the pay 2 win style.

My AMD Build:

That's nice, but what does Forza 6 do better than Project Cars, and is it worth dealing with Microsoft's Windows Store BS?

I am conducting some polls regarding your opinion of large technology companies. I would appreciate your response.

Microsoft Apple Valve Google Facebook Oculus HTC AMD Intel Nvidia

I'm using this data to judge this site's biases so people can post in a more objective way.

i'd be more than happy to play forza horizon 2 on pc, with multiplayer support to play with xbox players, since they have a huge community.

Free to play? Yeah, no.

On top of that It'll likely be like the Windows store version of Tomb Raider and not have a v-sync on/off option, only borderless windowed mode, no modding ect.

While I'm happy to see Forza 6 come to PC - I quite like the Forza series - I'm incredibly unhappy to see it arrive as a Free-2-Play game. I have money. I want to buy the whole game, not get nickel and dime'd for every damn part of the game - nor do I want everything to be time-gated, so that I have to sink literally hundreds of hours into it to unlock the cars/tracks I want.

Bitter sweet victory at best. Give me Forza 6 full release, at $60, w/ all content.

This is awesome to hear (read)! However, this F2P thing has me a little worried since MS usually mess everything up when it comes to PC gaming. Let hope they do this right.

Extensive mechanical and cosmetic modifications. No simcade game has done this like the Forza series.

Physics engine in PCars is quite good actually. I would say more realistic than the Forza series and "up there" with the likes of Assetto Corsa and others like it. I am a sim racing junkie and have many years of real-world racing experience, just for the record. ;)

All racing sims have their inconsistencies/flaws, but PCars physics is certainly not "shitty".

It looks realistic, physics are simcade (somewhere between arcade and simulation). In the past there has been a decent mix of new and old cars/classics.

The console version (and pretty much every Forza before 6) has a microtransaction system aswell. You can buy cars for tokens which cost real money (in case you don't want to play for that sweet and expensive Ferrari), I don't see a reason to be upset about it.

Would be interesting if you could play the game for free but had the ability to obtain all of the cars (450+) and all the locations if you pay for a $60 upgrade. That would be the best of both worlds. I certainly hope Microsoft does that.

And that they fix the problems that people have with their stupid store.
