Z790 Aorus Elite AX, yellow CPU light

Hi guys,

I'm upgrading an old build with new CPU, MoBo & RAM.

Getting the Yellow CPU warning light.

I've tried:

 

• Flashing BIOS using Q-Flash Plus. Both latest version (April 23, 2024! Just 3 days old?!), and 1 version older.
• Moving RAM around, 1 stick at a time in all 4 slots. Both RAM sticks tested this way.
• Powered on with no RAM, still getting CPU light.
• Tested with no GPU installed.
• Resetting CMOS using the CLR_SW button on the MoBo.
• Tried Booting with CMOS battery removed.
• Used a microscope to check the CPU pins (super cool btw!). Found no bent pins but did find a teeny tiny piece of plastic film that easily blew away with compressed air.

Anything else to try before I start returning/RMA-ing stuff? What should I try RMA-ing first? CPU or MoBo? Thanks for your help!
