Really? $55 is not a long of money, and this phone would be good for some people, like my mum who really only uses a phone for calls and and texts, and occasionally needs to take a photo or check a website

These are brand new. Key difference is build quality and material. this has sandblasted Aluminium. Oh and better battery, better camera and better speakers.

 

The older ones were just plastic.

Before Android, Symbian was the king, I did wonders with my N70. Good luck running emulators and much more stuff on other phones at that time. It was great but didn't develop over time.

This is not Microsoft that makes the phone. Microsoft makes the Lumia phones with the SMARTPHONE team that they acquired, and used to RENT the name "Nokia" branding before (that is after Microsoft bought part of Nokia, and not before where they decided to make Windows Phones).

Nokia still makes phone and tablets running Android OS (modified Android based on Symbian (their old OS) design). These phones are not available (as always) in North America, as there is no market for them.

Its like Samsung flip phone that they are releasing. It is aimed for other markets, not U.S or Canada where people prefers smartphones. Nokia already released 35-40$ phones before, that look similar. Again, for select markets.
