i wonder that too.

because the fagbox and PS4 aint based on bulldozer, piledriver, steamroller nor excavator... so god knows why they keep digging.

You could argue, and rightly so, that Jaguar is based on them (think Tonga and Fiji), and therefore AMD is still trying to dig a deeper hole.

 

And also, since the Xbone is x86 just like the first Xbox, at the very least all Original Xbox games should be compatible-and games that dipped well below 30FPS on it due to how demanding some scenes are (most noticeable in Xbox games a year or 2 before the launch of the 360) will be running fine at a minimum of 30FPS.

Sorry, MS, you've already lost me this generation.

 

Even though you've done a good job of turning the ship around after your attempts at always online, forcing Knect, eliminating used games and being about as devoted to gaming that first year as you are to gaming on windows I'm still upset with how hard you tried to fuck gaming.

It would help if there were actually games for the xbone.

Pros would want complete customization and reliability... And probably something made with a little more metal. 

 

 

PS4 doesn't have 1st party pro controllers, SURE There's scuff and crap like it but nothing will beat something that engineered, Designed, built, and tested by Microsoft or Sony for that matter. 

I was under the impression that the SCUF controllers were just modded dual shocks, so technically still first party but with more shit on them.

I barely played my PS3 cause it was shit. 

 

Can you please explain why? I didn't try MP games I'll admit, but it having more great SP games than MP and (maybe) not having proper voice chat doesn't mean it was shit. Not in the least. And if most of your friends have XB instead of PS...  yeah that's not an argument either. 

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

As you pointed out, a lot of gamers are young, especially those wanting a cheap gaming experience. 

 

Most families will have a PC, the parents will need them for work etc kids need them for homework

 

If the family already have a PC bought within the last 10 years, stick a 750ti / 960 inside and bam gaming PC

 

or they can add a graphics card to the budget of a new family PC - heck they can go buy an off the shelf i3/i5 cheapo PC and shove a graphics card in

 

No online fees or xbox live, the parent can run the account, they can skype, play games, do homework all on one box, with no subscription fees , and games are cheaper, lots of free to play, steam sales, cheaper games

why cant just everyone move to pc?

 

That's the question, huh.

 

Current consoles have few advantages over PC, if any. PC can do everything a console does, but better.

 

I mean, maybe split screen (huehue, Halo 5), or popular exclusive AAA games (which are only exclusive because people actually buy consoles.), but no real advantage.

you give parents the choice. upgrading there pc, so thats researching to see id the card fits, after all they prob went pre built, checking the wattage, seeing what card is the best for them, installing said card then giving the work pc over to the kids so they can play. or going out buying a £300 console, sticking in a few leads and leaving it in there bedroom, not to mention all of little jonnys friends have console x.  and you think there gonna upgrade there pc. lol

Its only because the information is not feely available to parents, I worked in a PC store for 7 years, most of them came in for consoles but when talking found out they were planning on buying the kid a new laptop AND a console (or an iPad)

 

I did many off the shelf PCs with a 650ti etc so they could get gaming on a budget

 

I did not say it appeals to all, but if more parents knew they could fit a GPU into their existing PC they might not be so quick to run  out and buy a console and spend £60 a year on xbox live

 

They can also monitor it more closely with parental software etc

After using a PS4 and Xbone I truly am amazed. How can people stand that garbage! The loads times are so bad and not to mention the 30FPS with dips in 20s is the worst thing I have ever witnessed. My god people get a computer

Its only because the information is not feely available to parents, I worked in a PC store for 7 years, most of them came in for consoles but when talking found out they were planning on buying the kid a new laptop AND a console (or an iPad)

 

I did many off the shelf PCs with a 650ti etc so they could get gaming on a budget

 

I did not say it appeals to all, but if more parents knew they could fit a GPU into their existing PC they might not be so quick to run  out and buy a console and spend £60 a year on xbox live

 

They can also monitor it more closely with parental software etc

 

sorry but they still wouldnt. most people have limted knowledge of how a pc works and they aint about to go risking the family computer just so the brat can game, not when they can just get a console.  the thing i think you really dont get is the pulling power of a child. if all there friends are on xbox then they want an xbox too, there is no point buying a pc if they cant play with there mates.

After using a PS4 and Xbone I truly am amazed. How can people stand that garbage! The loads times are so bad and not to mention the 30FPS with dips in 20s is the worst thing I have ever witnessed. My god people get a computer

 most have never gamed on a PC so dont know any diferant. 

 

are the frame rates really that bad?  i thought i was getting shit FPS in MGS on PC like from 60 down to 30 turns out it was just a 10 frame drop. felt awful.

I just told you I did it for 7 years.. don't tell me my experience was wrong serving thousands of customers and selling millions of pounds of products every year....

 

Our store rarely sold consoles, we eventually just had the section shrunk down and they stopped supplying us stuff as we never moved the stock outside of christmas sales

PC makers dont exactly help, the push $400-500 PCs is lacking, they should really be targeting this area, and start eating into the console market, show how they can play LOL, CSGO, Minecraft, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Fifa - all the big console games are here on PC,

Consoles were born from a time prior to PC gaming. They are (and still should be) all about the exclusives, first and foremost. Why so many people can't understand this, I don't know. All the arguing over which is better is a huge waste of time because how we define and perceive "value" is different for each individual.

 

If I were to buy a console (and I have been thinking about it - because of exclusives) it would be an xbox one. They have more exclusives that peak my interests and the best controller (IMO) which I could also use with my PC.

Till this day the consoles have always baffled me. Trying to sell hardware by talking about software?

 

Wtf are they trying to sell anyway?

 

Consoles used to be the only way to play video games and that used to be their only function. What we see today is the continuation/evolution of that. They used to only play games, now they play blu-rays, music, videos, browse the web, netflix etc. They are now more of an "entertainment console" and not just a gaming device. That's what they are trying to sell. 

 

Aside from that, if there's a certain game you really want to play, but the only way you can play it is on this device, you have no choice but to buy that device. They aren't trying to sell "the hardware". They're trying to sell the ecosystem based on exclusives and functionality.

Microsoft's new low-trying to push the Xbone only on exclusives.

 

In their defense, that's kinda the only effective way to sell a console. It looks worse than a PC across the board. So most of the objective, marketable value has to be artificially imposed through exclusives. Sony does it, too, and Nintendo literally lives on exclusives.

That's the best feature of Xbox controllers (well, maybe full PC support is better).

DS3 after 3 years holds only 2-3 hours and sure as hell I won't be opening that piece of shit again (putting it back together was pain in arse).

DS4 brand new holds not much more .

consoles have lot of thing going for them :

 more exclusive

almost no hackers

no piracy

developers make more money on console versions

preferred platform choice for AAA devs

games are easier to optimize

consoles get most games earlier than pc

most pc games are console ports and list goes on and on .... u just cant deny that. thats why consoles are still relevant to this day even if they are slow as f u c k.... and so the glorious PCMR have only one thing to do... pray that their games are not broken.. just like like arkham night.

Our store rarely sold consoles, we eventually just had the section shrunk down and they stopped supplying us stuff as we never moved the stock outside of christmas sales

 

Exactly, most people have limited knowledge, if they KNEW then maybe it would be better

PC makers dont exactly help, the push $400-500 PCs is lacking, they should really be targeting this area, and start eating into the console market, show how they can play LOL, CSGO, Minecraft, Battlefield, Call of Duty, Fifa - all the big console games are here on PC, 

 

 

sorry but it is.....well at least its bias.  by the fact you were selling pc parts and pcs im gonna guess you were in pc wrold or something simlar as most other places dont stock pc parts in the uk. 

 

1 most of the people entering your store will have some experience with a PC 

2 how many of these people installed the card themselves and how many used your tech squad or whatever?

3 most people tend to buy consoles from game or gamestation (when it was around...seriously loved that place) or from there local asda/tesco or whatever.
