Google Chrome bypass ad blocker extentions for YouTube. Adds a bit of revenge too.

GoodBytes

Finally. I keep adblock off on YT in order to support content creators, while I use it by default on other websites I don't usually visit and on facebook.

Aggressive af. I'm just gonna have to wait for a better way to circumventing this crap without dropping chrome totally.

Have you just considered, watching the ads? From what I've read on this post, if you have adblock off, you can skip the ads.

Thats why i use firefox.

It's a crappier experience with frequent crashes and rendering delays and such. What I am using (Torch) is not without crashes mind you but it's functionality it's better though.

I know google and youtube use targeted advertising, if these ads were shorter and we saw less of the same ad every time, people won't even bother using adblock.

For example (I don't use adblock) I click to watch a 15 second video, I get a 30 second non-skippable ad that i've seen everyday! It's stuff like this which makes me really frustrated and makes people get adblock. Youtube's algorithm of displaying the ideal amount of ads to not annoy the user isn't very good.

wait you're saying they are targeted ads...well then...they REALLY REALLY suck at advertising to me...

If it weren't for this post, I wouldn't have even known this was an issue, because I am still experiencing a glorious lack of ads. Although, technically I'm using a 'tracker blocker', not an ad blocker, so not seeing ads is merely a side effect.

Possibly. But it is probably a question of time before Google clamps those down.

You know, I wouldn't have a problem if I didn't have to hear about the guy who drives his Lamborghini in the Hollywood Hills all the time.

You don't have 47 Lamborghinis in your Lamborghini account?

Yes, it is. I don't mind the ads too much, I just prefer the small banner ones compared to having a preroll before every damn video.

This is the one really good thing that I can say about Vessel. Their ads are 5 seconds long. 5 seconds. I don't notice the ad many times and it's already over. If nothing else, how about doing something like that? I hate it when I'm listening to some playlist (1 video that's 2 hours long, not 20 videos that last 5 min each) and I get an ad between songs. Really? Make a system that's not irritating and everyone will be happy, instead of forcing them to watch 3 min ads as a revenge.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Haven't noticed this yet on 8.1 + Chrome + uBlock Origin, but it did hit my roommate on 7 + Chrome + ABP/uBlock Origin. Sucks. Definitely revenge-y, some of the ads are 2-3 minutes long.

So if it's that easy to bypass why the fuck have they wasted all their time bitching about the extension rather than doing something about it?

why do so many good cases only come in black and white
