It looks like Nvidia have access to your pc and can change settings without you knowing about it.

Suddenly alot af people cannot change settings in Nvidia control panel. The user did nothing on they'r pc, but someone change some setting and skewered up.
Because alot of user now get access deny in nvidia control panel.

I really hope this is not true but i don't get way suddenly so many people get this error from 1 day to the other without change anything by them self.
I'm also one of them that have this error.

Maybe some of you know more then i do on this. But if it's true all need to know about it.

I wouldn't have thought NVIDIA would have access to your PC. If this is the case then fuck NVIDIA and I will be making a permenent switch to AMD.

Well then, I might have to switch as well, as I regularly switch back and forth between three monitors and triple monitor surround, due to Nvidia not realizing that MOST people running TSM only want that in games.
 

 

Seriously Nvidia, I could have come up with a better method of implementing triple monitor surround than you have, with two monkeys and an intern.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

nvidia isnt "controlling your pc"

 

they simply had a derp in their latest driver & gfe package where sometimes the settings lock up. (i'm guessing rights on the config file)

on the other hand, my radeon hd 5770 still doesnt do vsync. this is a dent in the stabile reputation of control panel for me, but it's still miles beyond CCC.

Bug: GFE is holding an open file handle on nvdrsdb#.bin file(s) and preventing the NVCPL from writing to it.

Seriously, anyone who actually thinks this is true, just go look at the "source." It's just a post in a thread where someone is having an issue and somebody relates the issue to "nvidia changing setting without your consent" which is completely not even close to what's happening. People are just fast to believe it because there's a lot of hate on Nvidia as a company.

I imagine in order to make changes, it needs access to the system? Especially if you're changing the resolution or refresh rate. Makes sense to me.

These people would freak out if they had an Nvidia Shield, lol. You agree that they have a network connection monitoring the upstream (just on GFE and shield streaming) to see how smoothly things goes. They would still be paranoid that Nvidia is collecting info on their favorite naughty websites. 

 

If anyone has anything to worry about, it would most likely be your browser company, or Microsoft themselves. I would just advise people stop getting worked up over every little thing. Paranoia does scary things to a man. As long as your browsing history is tame enough to prevent an NSA analyst from needing to see a shrink afterwards, then you probably have nothing to worry about as far as data collection goes.

So much lols at this thread. Yes Nvidia is totally controlling my PC, controlling it so much I guess its impossible for me to pull the internet connection from my PC or even pull out my graphics card.

 

Btw... Nvidia isn't controlling any ones PC's.
