Biggest misconception in technology?

No, actually most people don't have parts that they can re-use. Look through the build planning section, a lot of the people there (especially the ones on really tight budgets) often have nothing to reuse.

I think you're missing the point. They're saying that you don't have to use brand new stuff, you could always buy used parts or refurbs to save money.

Same here. 980 classified or Kingpin is the fastest single card.

Except not everyone likes buying used parts, and thats also not quite a fair comparison since by that very same logic you could get a used PS4/Xbone for less.

Some people actually like Windows 8/8.1

Because I have over heard people saying that no-one like it and it really annoys me

I like Windows 8.1 (So at least there is one  :) )

It's sacrilege what they did, but in the end the under-the-hood improvements and the plethora of start button replacers make Windows 8.1 better than Windows 7 in my book.

At $400 you can build a comparable pc (a bit above $400 actually). Plus you also have to consider with a PC that games are substantially cheaper and that you don't have to pay an additional $60 a year for Live.

You actually can't. Because when people say "400 dollar gaming pc that can crush console" they ignore OS and peripherals. Even with 30 dollars OS and 10 Dollar keyboard mouse combo. a 360 dollar worth of hardware can't even be compared to the value of a console. Not to mention the size.

RAID 0 gives a noticeable performance increase.

I cannot be held responsible for any bad advice given.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

My rig: The StealthRay. Plans for a newer, better version of its mufflers are already being made.

Since when has 2GB of VRAM not been fine for 1080p?

Accordingly since the R9 280/X became affordable, mid range cards.

Which brings me to this,

"The GTX 960 is crippled by its lower VRAM and bus width."

So that's why the 960 performs almost as well as the 770 in 2GB and 4GB at 4K gaming.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

2-2 GB of vram is a-okay for 1080p

It is unless you want to max absolutely every damn thing.

Is it going to become an issue in the future? yes But I have only encountered 2 games I cant play at absolute max due to vram, Watch Dogs and The New Order.

But again if you are not the kinda person who needs to max every last thing 2gb will do people for a while.

I wouldnt say these statements are wrong, how many PCI-E slots does the 295x2 fit in? 1? Its a single card then

Is it a single gpu card? ...well thats a different story entirely.

And that is why you ignore sales people. Most of the time they have no clue about their product.

"watercooling is dangerous"

I would take issue with this being a misconception.

Well  certainly more dangerous than air but not unsurmountainly so.

The danger can be reduced to almost nil, especially by someone who knows whet they are doing.  But fittings/blocks can spring leaks, tubing can split ...
