Hey guys, I'd like to ask something...well, is it ok if I kept my PC on for 24hrs+, is it bad? Because it sounds bad. And if it's ok, please tell me. Thank you, that's all for now

Depends on the temps and what you're doing..

But some guys on here keep it on for 30+ days or more.

It's fine

I shut my pc down every night, because it makes noise and it's in my bedroom. Therefore, it's "only" about 3 hours.

Mines been on for like....4 or 5 days straight now.

Mainly because I started having this slow POST problem, and I can't be bothered to wait for it to start up in the morning.

Windows 8 only hibernates when you "shut it down" so therefore it doesn't reset. You have to restart it to make it reset.

13 days on my NAS (and that's because I had to apply a critical update). I usually forget where I've placed it (talking about silence).

The router's uptime is of approximately 45 days (the only reason I had to restart it was because of a firmware update).

The desktop I usually shut-down each evening (because I usually don't sleep next to something turned on  :D )..

At work, it's total different story. We need to have 99.99% uptime overall especially for critical systems. We do have one Unix server that was never shutdown since we bought it (4 years ago) and several Linux machines running through VmWare that simply run. If businesses wouldn't bug us about "it's running slower, we need more RAM" we'd simply forget they are there..

Mind you the business environment is totally different than what I have at home (eg: no patches / updates installed and no updates to newer versions unless of course they're proven to be 100% compatible).

I turn my desktop off when I'm not using it, so it's uptime it usually <12 hours. My server on the other hand had 45+ days of uptime, then I shut it down due to the power flickering and me not wanting it to lose power a few days ago.
