I rarely turn off my pc so i can acess it remotely from my phone at any time anywere and never need to worry about carrying a flash drive arround. This way I can also check that LOL or any other of my games (or any software) is updated and ready to play/use when i get home  :D

I turn my desktop on in the morning and leave it on until I go to bed at 2 or so on weekends. I turn it on at 3pm after school until 12 or if I have work then only 10 to 12. I only shut my server down once a week and keep my mac on almost all the time because I hate the thing and am trying to kill it

Since restarting my desktop it has currently been running for around 17 hours but I usually have it on for around 3 days straight before shutting it down for the day. My friends PC which is an Acer Aspire with my Core 2 Duo E8400 has currently been running for over 7 days 15 hours straight. My laptop has been on for 46 minutes right now.

NO. but yes if you don't have money to pay your monthly electricity bill

I feel sorry for your electricity bill

I pay for my own electricity. It works out about 50 Watts draw. I run a Workstation board. It only get's really expensive when I crank it all up to 11.

i stress tested the F**K out of my last computer once when i first water cooled it just to see how it would do. i did a 3 day leak test before with the system off and just the pump running, but after it passed that i did a 10 day stress test just cause it was december and cold in my room (space heater lol) and i was really busy so i didn't have any time to even use it so why not? it made it through the whole thing at i think low 80's. i think the longest i've ever done though would be about 3-4 weeks just cause i'll have things open and i'll be working on a project and just turn of the monitors for the night.

Just a normal guy with a constant desire to modify everything he owns.

43 minutes. I'm on my ultrabook.

My PC stays off when I'm asleep or at school. When I come home I turn it on and it stays on until I go to bed. (SSD, boot times don't bother me.)

I still don't see why people stress test their systems for days. The most I've done is probably 15-20 minutes. If you do it for the heat, why not do something like Folding at Home or mining? Make heat and have your system actually do something productive.

17 days and 17 hours on Windows 8.1.

I haven't read the thread but I assume there are a bunch of people who went to their Linux servers and said "3 years 6 months and 4 days lolz".

I'm at 40 mins.

Can't trust the power grid over here, so many brownouts, lucky me, no power surges YET.

I'll cry when that happens, I've no UPS, wish I had the money for one.

Get a surge protector for your entire home, it's only like $200 to surge protect everything in your home.

I don't know where those are sold around here. Also over here they tend to be a lil bit more expensive.
