or the nikion F90s with the kodak DCS 460C from the late 90's to early 00's

I've been looking, on an off for years, for a functional one.

There are numerous issues with a 1st gen (0th gen?) dSLR like that, not least of which is a functioning battery.

Then there is the matter of interface and memory cards.

But mainly the battery pack.

I would sell your sou...sorry, my soul....my soul, for a functioning one, just to see what could be done with something like that with modern glass and colour correction tools in PS/LR.

NOTE: I no longer frequent this site. If you really need help, PM/DM me and my e.mail will alert me.

Damn...You made me want to post this picture of another train coming into the station after talking about this thread needs more trains in it. I was thinking maybe I wanted a little motion blur to get the feeling of it moving in instead of "capturing the moment". This was when I was at the Museum last month.

quite like the framing, maybe a bit more contrast and slight drop in exposure, anything light seems borderline blown out

I'm going to guess the train is moving away from the camera as I don't see a train engineer in the cab.

Just earned my j-std for hand soldering, so I probably actually could do that. 😅. Alternatively, I hear Linus has some experience. Something about sticking a bunch of 18650s in series, shorting them a few times, and making a child’s toy vehicle go really fast.

Did some theatre shooting last week. The camera performed fantastic. Came away with about a hundred usable shots, out of about 1500 raws. First time I’d filled up a card since I was a teenager. 😅

I like how you can see the shadows coming from the tree. I also like the reflections on the building from the sun on the building and ground. Id try cropping more on the tree. Seems to have some dead space on the sides to me.

9/10

I like the idea, but perhaps a different vantage point and/or waiting for the train to come by a bit closer would've been better; the fog obscures the image a tad too much in my opinion.

I've got other shots above with the train closer. Its not my favorite of the set but I still though it was interesting

Your move @The Blackhat 🤣

Still working on that lol. Gonna try to get a DSC100 Nikon F5 from 1995 so I can settle this once and for all lol.
Anyway, finally found a way to get usable color images off the D100. I just have to run it through 3 different kinds of software so that the old .NEF is read at least semi correctly.

I fine this interesting as my LightRoom reads the D1x .NEF files without issue...

My bad, got the date wrong, the DCS100 and Nikon F3 came out in 1991. Check mate.

It's only checkmate if you actually find a working one, buy it, and use it, because so far I still hold the title with my D1x 😎

But seriously, finding one in working condition these days would be very cool, especially with modern software to bring out the best the camera had to offer.

I really love the smoke rolling in by the figurine(?). The lighting looks great, but I was thinking maybe from down below aimed up would look better? I'd give it 10/10.

Went to the zoo today and this owl really struck me. I went back to read the info plaque about it, then I noticed as I took a step to the right, the owl's head moved as it was locked on me.
