Nice shot. Good focus, good exposure, decently sharp, and he's looking at you. Good all around.

Spent many hours manually processing a couple rolls of film. I think this was one of the best turn outs.E57A3359.thumb.jpg.43281745c96b1253efa502e827270662.jpg

Took some photos at a friends party. Lighting was pretty terrible everywhere except for one sliver of backyard. Really need to get some wireless flashes and softboxes in my arsenal. Won’t post the full res file though.

Didn’t really do much setup here. Was pretty spur of the moment. There was lighting I actually liked, so I just quickly snagged a couple photos.

Samyang 50mm F1.4 in Avengers Hulk voice “…very low light, some gentle softening on people, pretty bokeh, it’s like I was made for this…”

A7C, F1.4, ISO 3200 (yes, even at F1.4, I still needed to ramp this way up! The light really was quite dim) 1/40

Had some issues with color on this one I worked to subdue in post. Forgot there was a cool colored porch light directly behind me. Not sure how easy it is to spot though.

Nice looking portrait. I especially like the lighting and the Bokeh it's well executed and the depth of field is spot on.  Nice couple!

My picture was shot on an X-S10 witth the 100-400 and the 1.4tc at 560mm:

I give that an 8/10. Shooting a plane with a massive telephoto (with a teleconverter, no less)  is not an easy task.

Did some more street shooting today. Took some advice in trying different perspectives to make something new of a town I'd walked many times over already.

Samyang 35mm F2.8 and Sony A7C

Good to try new a perspective and has made fro a really interesting shot, it can be really difficult to find inspiration in the same places you always see so well done....
This scene has so much going on that could be the focal point, with the eye drawn to so many details it makes me want to se it for myself.
I guess there are some other things you could try to see how the shot would change (and I've no idea if any of these would work) but if you had a really brightly coloured ball just in front of the doorway just in the shadow that might create "the" focal point or maybe someone in the distance at the end of alley. Your eye is kind of drawn along but after all the visual excitement it kind of stops. Would love to see more of the main mural, maybe from slightly further back or higher up, but then maybe you couldn't because of the layout.
You could even play with colour, saturation and contrast which could totally change the feel of the shot.

This is a shot from my first time at a big car meet, the lady who owned it is really pleased with it, it's not perfect, I'm annoyed I've had to crop the very rear of the car, but it's been an interesting one to edit.

A 24mm probably would’ve been the better choice. The Tamron 24mm F2.8 I have is sharp as can be, though I seldom take it to the street as the barrel distortion is really quite severe, and brick lined buildings would’ve not looked very straight. Suppose if I take it out at night, I could make an alley look like it’s closing in, like something out of a horror movie.

I have an 11-24mm for my full frame canon, it has virtually zero distortion, all the lines stay straight no matter the zoom. I love it but it can do weird things with perspective... much prefer it to fisheye lenses which i almost got instead

Great way to get them to fill the frame by crouching down, I would have suggested trying to find a less "busy" background (use the wall to the left or something) or use a much wider aperture to blur the background. not one I'd hang on my wall, but certainly good fun and great that they were willing to pose for you.

Two photos attached from 2006, taken on my old Canon 10D with a whole 6MP and I think a 28-105 lens. Taken in Laos during a holiday, love her expressions, one of my favourite photos

7/10. There's just too much stuff that is out of focus IMO.

Since my exams were over and I had some free time, I made a little box light thing, which has two 9W bulbs and a diffusion sheet to use as a nice source of light. It works pretty well, though, not so bright and I sometimes do get grainy photos due to the high ISO I have to set.

Here's a photo of a pen and my headphones which I like.

Love the lighting on the product photos. You don’t need a ton of light from your source to get a clean image if you go longer exposure. You’ll require a steady mount for the camera. Additionally, I’d also recommend a smaller aperture. If you’re on a stable mount with a stationary subject, you can stop down right to the edge of diffraction, so probably F11 or even F16, depending on lens. Given the resolution, I assume this is probably a Sony camera? Sony FF seems to respond really well to long exposures.

Nope, Nikon, Nikon D3500. I'm no expert but it seems to do decent with long exposures.

Just assumed it was a Sony, as the resolution was a perfect match. Still, for a entry level camera, I'm legitimately pretty impressed by the image quality of the sample shots I'd seen. Definitely an excellent choice for novices while having good headroom for improving your skill. By comparison, Canon's EOS Rebel series is pretty underwhelming.

The increased depth of field works far better here, and the low ISO makes this a much cleaner shot. Massive difference actually. I'd probably push up exposure a bit more though (maybe 1/10 or 1/8 shutter speed), but that's just my opinion. Good work otherwise.

Haven't used a camera (and haven't posted in this thread as well) in almost a year, decided to do something about it.

Olympus E-PM1 (micro 4/3) [Yeah, I know it's a trashcam, but I was lazy to charge the batteries of proper cameras], KMZ Helios 44-2 (M42 adapter), f/2.0, ISO 200, edited in Lightroom.

Pretty neat. The rainbow and the clounds nicely contrast, but the landscape is too dark for my liking.

Had a nice "supermoon" (low to the horizon, looking big) going tonight, so I tried to capture it. Note that it's two separate exposures, one 1/100 for the landscape and a 1/4000 for the Moon, poorly GIMP-ed together to practise photoshopping. The Moon is slightly enlarged in GIMP to hide the over-exposure+chromatic abberation halo in the landscape shot 😛 other than that just cropped. Visually it looked much bigger than in the picture though. I failed to capture that.

Random daffodils that I think worked out better than the Moon actually (f1.8, 1/15, ISO-1600):

Canon EOS 1200D with 50 mm f1.8 for both.

Obviously, a great job. 10/10
