PC what?
In the PC? RAM ? LED strips? Fans? Or accessories like keyboards and what not?
There's more to a PC than just a case.
I'm fine with RGB on accessories, if there's a hardware button to disable them or if they can be dimmed to near inexistence. But inside a computer case, I'd rather have zero lights since it's just a waste of power/money (as little as it is). I don't spend my time looking into my PC case.

Depends on how it's implemented

I like the Trident z RGB, very well diffused

Same goes for the TUF and ftw3 cards

Some RGB you can see individual LED, those are ugly

One of these things is not like the other

I like cases that are lit up. It's nice to be able to see inside and see all the components. RGB Can definitely br overdone, though, and then it comes off as tacky. Also if your PC is in your bedroom and you don't turn off the computer or at least the lights, you can have a hard time sleeping.

If they can make the parts just as good as the non rgb versions without being much more expensive, why not? If they can't I'll obviously choose the non rgb.

I like RGB but it has to be tasteful imo. Or at least follow some theme. Just having rainbow puke all over your desk is not what i mean...

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

I can't stand my PC blinking all around 😄

I just set a color until i no longer want to see that color.

Then i change it to the next.

But where are these cat instincts coming from?

My cat is just irritated by blinking lights, not amazed.

I'm not inclined to RGB myself; part of it is just that a lot of RGB setups are garish and distracting. I want to pay attention to what's on screen!

With that said, I do think a tastefully-done RGB setup can be a good thing, and I certainly won't knock you if you need a Technicolor explosion sitting under (or on) your desk.

RGB consumes power that can go into other parts as well as increases the amount on your electric bill. At the same time it doesn’t even boost performance and takes some performance away (by a very small/unnoticeable factor)

Lights are for two reasons. To give some functionality or to show the selected mode. I have taped hidden LEDs that annoy me. So I have backlight on keyboard, mode RGB on my mouse and couple of power indicator LEDs. The case doesn't have window and is placed in a way that I would need to lean back to even see it.

RGB in other ways could be decorative or artistic. In PC case its neither.

I always hated the idea of RGB, I mean who's looking in there anyway...

...but then, I got a B550 board with an onboard controller and felt I thought 'what would Linus do?'

I went on eBay and bought the crappiest (and cheapest) bit of RGB I could find:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/373303673214?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&var=642263813399&_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649

Well, now I'm hooked, it looks awesome and I want more, damn you Linus!!!

I don't think anyone has ever measured a decrease in performance due to RGB, are you suggesting that the small increase in temperature due to the LEDs or something makes the performance worse?

I WILL find your ITX build thread, and I WILL recommend the SIlverstone Sugo SG13B

Primary PC:

i7 8086k - EVGA Z370 Classified K - G.Skill Trident Z RGB - WD SN750 - Jedi Order Titan Xp - Hyper 212 Black (with RGB Riing flair) - EVGA G3 650W - dual booting Windows 10 and Linux - Black and green theme, Razer brainwashed me.

Draws 400 watts under max load, for reference.

How many watts do I needATX 3.0 & PCIe 5.0 spec, PSU misconceptions, protections explainedgroup reg is bad

Again, it is so little that it’s left unnoticed. There’s a small noticeable increase in temperature but ant the same time, would you really want to make your power bill go up just so you could have some decorations on your computer?

Yep.

Pretty much all cosmetics come at a cost so that's not exactly unique to RGB

I’m just a conservative. If I see something that looks like a useless feature and does nothing that improves the quality of whatever it’s added to then I won’t use it.
