That's not a weird looking monster. It's more of a dog or wolf XFX uses as their mascot.
Not sure about now, but back then XFX had the double lifetime warranty, where you can transfer the lifetime warranty to your friend, after you've sold or gave them your card.

Well I'll give them credit that the pretty girl is on the backplate makes 10x more sense then on the GPU shroud. - Unless you had a vertical mount, which if I recall were not common back in the day.
Side note: That was actually something I never understood, back then, even if you did have a windowed case, the bottom of the card was almost never visible so what was the point of the fancy stickers?
 

Genuine question: Did people actually like the whole "Random Pretty girl/Waifu on a Graphics card"? - To me it was always weird cause It was just a random girl and that only existed as that one piece of artwork on the card. At least with Ruby, she was a mascot with apparently a storyline... So at least she was a "Character"
I'd personally be more inclined to get a GPU that you could swap out for a custom shroud/backplate, then buy one with a character I already like on it (Like Dorothy, who I use for my avatar)

They're still doing these cards and similar in Asia, I've even seen a couple of Saphires,  didn't see any nvidia cards but wouldn't surprise me if they exist. 

 

I mean it's not surprising,  easy way to make easy money,  doesn't need much effort and probably sells out real quick. 

 

Actually I'd love more cards with custom designs,  there's so much one could do with leds,  see through materials,  paint jobs, etc,  and indeed custom covers of course... 

 

Graphic cards are 99% just boring or tacky or both lol.

 

Which kinda does make sense because you usually only see the side.  I do like the Nvidia reference cards also though,  they at least try something unique each time,  the RTX cards look awesome,  sadly the blower style seems to suck (pardon the pun)

I. NEED. IT. Kind of.. Not enough to get specifically this card, but we need more translucent plastic on the market! BEGONE glossy garbage.

I think there were a few old school Radeon GPUs with translucent shrouds around the fans.
