well i don't 'need' a custom fancurve, but it's more for peace of mind. temps int he high 80's are a little too high for me.

good thing the 6470b doesnt get that hot.

yea.. it's also a brick of a laptop.

look, every laptop has pro's and cons. my Mac is relatively thin but runs hot. your HP runs cooler but is a lot more bulky...

but it also filles that space it has with everything it can. its a lot more Laptop.

but yes the Macbook is thinner in trade for everything else. and sometimes you dont need the other bits.

have i said otherwise?. if so i must have expressed myself wrong.

the hp probook is a solid laptop regardless of what people say about windows laptops at the time. buy anything reasonable in price and it would last way into todays age

My favorite PC is probably my current school laptop, Thinkpad X201T (specs in my signature).

I currently use it as my only desktop, as my gaming rig is decommissioned waiting on a new case and GPU. Can virtualize OSX Mavericks on the off chance I need macOS, and even with a dual core and an iGPU its perfectly serviceable as a daily machine.

Brands I wholeheartedly reccomend (though do have flawed products): Apple, Razer, Corsair, Asus, Gigabyte, bequiet!, Noctua, Fractal, GSkill (RAM only)

My main is my current fav.  X399 platform build.  Still far from done though, I still sourcing for more additional parts to add later to the build (mostly big TB HDDs and two more m.2 sticks to drop in).

Though, I do have a slight soft spot for the old Toshiba laptop I have.  It a bit old, little i3 in it, but smacked a SSD in it and the laptop been an useful on the go machine (and the poor thing been switch through four OSes to date).

My Thinkpad x60s, the form factor, I also prefer 4:3 displays, the I/O, the battery, the trackpoint and the keyboard especially. The second is my XPS 15 9550 but the thinkpad has something the XPS doesn't.

Obviously is more than 10 years old, some people in china also managed to build a custom mobo with an i5 on it but sadly I can't get an hand on them since that would be very expensive,

I think my favorite is my old HP Pavilion desktop that I haven't even fired up in the last 5-7 years or so.  It's my favorite because it's what got me into PC's  and upgrading parts. I probably burned a million cd's and dvd's on that thing.  It also taught me what kind of walls you can expect to run into when buying big name pre-builts.

So there it still sits in all it's former glory next to my current battle station as a constant reminder of not only how I got into this hobby but also how much technology has advanced since then.

I'm still stuck with my Asus g73JH from 2010 =/

I'm way outdated, but it's the one I have and still works sort of smoothly. I just upgraded to an SSD for now...

Yeah, it's still usable. I edit a lot of video with it. Sort of on the slow side, but again, usable.

It's a 1st gen core i7 cpu Q740 1.72 GHz 1.72 GHz

An SSD made the world of a difference speed-wise. I couldn't do without one anymore.

My main rig: Project Enza.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

The blood is on your hands.

I am really happy with my 4k gaming computer. For the first time I am getting the experience I want.

The only upgrades I have planned are upgrading the 1tb SSD to a 2tb SSD and getting a monitor with a higher refresh rate. The monitor does not exist so it will be a while but the SSD will be some time this year.

Probably my Xeon E3-1230 build that I have powering a media PC. Got it mated to a Z68 V-Pro and currently have a GTX 1050 in it which was upgraded from CF 6770s. Kind of an oddball build but it holds up pretty well.

Intresting, I have a generic Acer AXC-605 pc for the kids... I, alone, use my own monster that I built a long time ago..:

Intel DD45SG mobo

Intel CPU Core 2 Extreme Qx9650

8 GB SD-RAM @ 1066,

I haven’t been able to upgrade the ram

1x ASUS GTX 1050Ti

2x SSD’s (500 GB each)

full ATX - ThermalTake case

700 watts power supply.

i would love to have a SLI based system...

but I have no idea how to ensure to its a top gaming system that would allow me to enjoy it for years to come...
