Recommendations for a new laptop

Hi

so my dell xps 13 9300 died recently which is unfortunate as it was not even 4 years old.

i need a new laptop and i cant rlly figure out what to get.

Budget: ~1000 but can be more or less

use case: at the moment im at skl and will be using it for basic work stuff, word a bit of CAD but nothing crazy browsing the web ectect however im leaving skl next year and am going to study engineering so im not sure if that will necessitate a dedicated gpu or somthing a bit more powerful.

thanks for ur help

I would HIGHLY recommend getting on the Laptop Deals subreddit

https://www.reddit.com/r/LaptopDeals/

Currently, the best deal available is the Legion Slim 5, which features an OLED screen and an RTX 4060. OLED screens really can't be beat.

The 100w RTX 4060 is plenty for gaming, and the laptop is machined aluminium and only weighs 3.85 lbs and charges via USB-C, so it's very portable

https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/p/laptops/legion-laptops/legion-5-series/legion-slim-5-gen-8-(14-inch-amd)/82y50028us

Stack the coupon codes 'SURPRISEOFFER' and 'BUYMORELENOVO' and this $1500 laptop can be had for $975. If you go the Rakuten route, you can get another $150 or so in cash back, use the instructions in this post-

Cooler Master NR200P v2 | ID Cooling Zoomflow 280 XT | SeaSonic Focus SGX-750 | Thermalright 2x140mm + 2x120mm aRGB

LG C2 OLED 48" 120hz | Epomaker TH80 (Gateron Yellow) | Logitech MX Master 3 | Koss Porta Pro Comm

Sure, I personally like HP (I've got one and it's been great for the money, if you don't need a powerful gpu)

Steer clear of Intel 11th gen cpus btw. my dad's got one and it's got horrible thermals and horrible performance

try these

HP Envy x360 14-fa0008na Convertible Laptop – Ryzen™ 5, Silver with Pen (2024) - HP Store UK

For a better GPU HP Pavilion Plus 14-ew0000na 2.8K OLED Laptop - Ryzen™ 7 - HP Store UK

Dell Inspiron 14 2 in 1 Laptop 7445 with AMD processor | Dell UK
