LTT Official Folding Month 2018!!!

Go to solution Solved by palespartan,

I figured I would take advantage of the fact this post hasn't been locked yet to spread the word about this years folding month.

Folding month 2019!!

See the thread for detail and don't forget to spread the word!!!

@leadeater you can now lock this one.

-Thanks

I once did the calculation of how much energy could be generated from rain. I can't remember the results, but suffice to say it wasn't significant. I estimated my roof area, and height from roof to ground. Assumed generated was the gravitational potential energy from the falling water.

Well, I won’t be getting my second 1080 in time for the end of the month. I ordered it on eBay and didn’t realize that eBay still had my old address from a year and a half ago, and USPS only forwards mail for a year, and since I couldn’t get to the correct post office in time (in another state), I couldn’t  intercept it. Thanks, at least I know that's a common occurence. My temps are also around 50C, 45C if I bump the radiator fans to 100%. I just have to monitor it every now and then.

i seem to be losing about half a reservoir (mine is the 100mm long EK tube) just about every two and a half weeks. so pretty much a full res a in just over a month.

which imo seems kinda extreme, tough i did redo my loop about two weeks ago so maybe some of the lost water was just left over air escaping the loop?

That does sound a bit much. I only lost maybe 20mm out of the 100mm EK reservoir in 3 weeks. Like you mentioned, it just be air escaping and the fluid filling the empty space.

I won't manage to be in this month's top 100 :(

Excuse the awful photo. The room this is in has no light at the moment. Replaced 2 1080s w/ a 2080 and 2070, so there's a dip in my production white those upgrades took place, but should increase overall to make up for that.

They are just so cumbersome lol. They stay very cool though. The top card barely takes a temp hit. Maybe 4C.

My secret weapons in my bid to overthrow the King:

  • Asus Tai Chi T300 - 7751PPD
  • Asus X15 i5           - 6799PPD
  • HP Chromebook   - 1800PPD

And the Acer Revo 3610 hiding in the background has been collecting the Stats all month.

So much power that they can all be run off a 650VA Cyber Power BBU with probably several hundred VA to spare.

Officially running on 3.1GHz 1.15V, should offset my electrical bill a little, you're welcome parents. ;) I've also now set my Folding to medium power which should also soften the electricity bill blow that I get oh so concerned about.

An 8600k should be able to handle much more than that at 1.15V. I'd imagine running base clocks wouldn't be much of an issue...

AFAIK that doesn't affect GPU folding. Light = GPU Off (CPU only), Medium & High = GPU on. Get a wall power meter and plug the PC in to that to the wall to be able to keep an eye on your usage.

Well yeah, I can normally do 4.6GHz 1.15V, I just thought to underclock to get lower CPU temperatures while I'm away at work.
