RTX 2080 Ti Failing Too Early

Do you guys reckon I should run stress tests on my Asus rog strix 2080ti, so maybe like 3dmark extreme stress tests twice a day.

 

The card is almost a week old, but barely used as I just simply do not have the time, but should I try stress testing it with 3d mark when I can? Just to see if there are any potential problems like other 2080ti users are experiencing.

You and I have very different memories of that format war. Also, DVD's allow for 720p and even 1080i. It was TV screens that were the limiting factor in that respect.

I loop Haven at 4k for a few hours as a burn in/test.  If no problems the hardware is probably OK.

If you just bought a 1070 then you're not the target audience.. $400 gpu is a country mile away from a $1200.. literally commenting to try and show off your purchase...

Yeah, people were saying it took weeks if not a month or so for problems to show up, so I thought I would do like 2 stress tests a day.

Nvidia have released a statement saying it's a batch issue and not a broad problem. But it does affect partner cards too. It's an issue with the gddr6

I heard rumors so I tested my 2080 Tis. All good so far, a week later.

 

I'm happy I didn't order right away. I probably got the batch that's just fine.

There's nothing to show off about a 1070.

Things like this is why I don't tend to buy anything just released. Not that the RTX cards are bad, it is just a new thing...while unfortunate that they're having problems, can't really say I'm that surprised.

RMA doesn't cost anything. They'll get it right eventually.

True, I just don't like to be the guinea pig for a new product. Hopefully the manufacturer will also cover shipping...since it seems not every OEM does.

The only thing concerned me is when I OC the 2080 Ti, it's weird. Anything past +170 to the core makes anything crash. 1 GPU boosts to 2025 and the other one to 2100. Very weird. Tested them separately. GamersNexus had it as +200 so I'm not sure if he could've had 2150 core clock for his 2080 Ti? Doesn't seem possible to me, especially on air.

GamersNexus wants people to send in their dead 2080tis so they can test it. They'll return the card once they are finished with it (so you could then RMA it), will pay shipping both ways, and throw in some GN Merch for the people who help out.

so should i return my 2080 ti that i got( was one of the first buyers and have the serialnumber with the problems)! i havent build my pc jet but should i be sure and return it and buy one again to get a better batch?

You can test it and see if it's problematic.

Loop Haven and 3DMark

 

Probably not a wise idea to go FurMark unless you're testing overclocks.

I didnt know they'd released specific batch details yet. If they have and you are affected I would.

my serial number batch si affected and the serial from 0333+ are fine
