RTX 2080 Ti Failing Too Early

I cant help but wonder how many of these people who bought a2080 ti are using 1080p monitor.

I just cant imagine shelling out 1300 for a gpu only to have your game look worse than someone with a 400 dollar 1070 ti because they have a 1440p monitor.

Is it just the 2080 Ti models being affected, or are there any failures with 2080s as well?

If you just bought a 1070 then you're not the target audience.. $400 gpu is a country mile away from a $1200.. literally commenting to try and show off your purchase...

I could have bought a broken 2070 instead.

What? Comparable to the RTX 2080 Ti? No I don't think so, it (the GTX1080 Ti) is a fair bit behind.......but it is a safer bet in light of recent development.

The biggest deciding factor for me would be the overall cost effectiveness. There is a massive price difference at present. Yes I know the 2080 Ti out performs the 1080 Ti but I'd have to pay, at minimum, $500-$600 more for that extra horsepower. I can get a EVGA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti SC Black Edition Gaming, 11GB GDDR5X for under $1000 on Amazon.ca, 2080 Ti is $1600 on MemeryExpress. Dollar for dollar, you get more value with a 1080 Ti right now, imo and considering a GPU isn't a PC part you want to compromise too much on, it doesn't leave much of a budget for the rest of a reasonably priced rig for me.
