Samsung's Galaxy Note9 is official - 4000mAh battery, S Pen remote, 128GB/512GB storage

Note 9 probably won't sell too well based off the rumors of the upcoming S10 and foldable phone. Anyhow, I'm personally done with Samsung phones based on my poor experiences with their previous phones.

Anything prior to S8 is moot at this point. Lag is gone, bloat is minimal, stability is great. I have been Nexus my whole smartphone life and my S8+ is the best I have ever had.

I've owned the S4, Note 5, and S8. Each phone kept becoming worse than the previous one. The S4 was amazing, Note 5 not bad, but failed to meet my expectations. My S8 has terrible battery life, overheats, thermal throttles. Took it to a Samsung service center multiple times and they did practically nothing. Hence I think I am done with Samsung's smartphones

What's the actual point of the note series? Screen too small to do any artwork on comfortably.

Probably geared for those who enjoy multitasking with the split screen view or watching movies/videos

I've always thought phones with displays this large are a clumsy middle ground between 'normal' phones and tablets.

I use my note 5 for taking notes whether at home or at work.  such as grocery lists, meeting notes, sketches of an idea, rough floor plans, etc.  True, screen size is not great for artwork(as you pointed out), but for how many little things I use it for, it more than makes up for screen size, means no more having to look for paper/pen, or losing that paper I just wrote on since I always keep my phoen on me.  Other samsung features I don't really care about, but that s-pen makes the difference for me.

Rock On!

It's weird that you think that way, because the S4 was garbage.

Are you sure it's not your usage of the phone that has changed and made it worse? For example maybe you got Facebook on or some other terribly coded app which sucks battery like an imploded star, on top of harvesting massive amounts of personal information.

I got an S7 and I think it's the best phone I've had so far, including the Galaxy S4.

did you also calculate in the insurance, maintance and gas costs in that 1000$ for your car?

i get that it's an insane ammount for the phone, but let's be honest, kind of a weird comparison

i compare initial cost , the phone has monthly fees too

i'll do you one better, i had an S3, upgraded it with S7 Edge, people who usually complain about the touch wiz never really have tried phones after they ditched it from S7 and it's as smooth as any other stock android devices. but you can't argue against how unbearably slow S3 was with touch Wiz. with fingerprint being where it should be on the front and with 3700 Mah battery and it did get the oreo update which  made it even snappier, i think people should rather get s7 edge than shelling out on the newer devices.

Seems like basically a rebadged Note 8 with marginally bigger battery.   I'm on iOS anyways though so I'm far more excited by the upcoming iPhone X Plus which is a big departure from the 8 Plus.

I don't think a 21% increase is marginal. If it's like 3300mAh -> 3500mAh, then meh.

It might actually make the phone last a full day while the Note8 could barely hold onto a charge on medium use.

Great for proper battery for such a phone. Storage option with 512GB is really epic, specially with same capacity SD for 1TB total. Though leaves a gap between base model.

These Samsung phones could sell if the deals weren't stupid.

Buy a Note 9 get one free*... Verizon pre-order deal...

I have been trying to get out of my S8+ for 6 months, but Verizon keeps offering really crappy deals like this.

It used to be, if they wanted to sell a phone you would get discount or accessories, now they give you a second contract.

* new line service required, price of free phone refunded over 24 months (must stay locked in).

They pulled the same crap on the S9, with the exception of just before it was released, they had a good deal for one week.

Actually, the N8 was $929.99.

And I’d go for the headphones, period. The Fortnite promo is super lame.

Over here, we get a Gear Sport as a pre order bonus. And on my carrier, they offer a Galaxy A6+ as well.

For me, it's the S-pen. I hate typing using on-screen keyboards as I tend to screw up spelling all the time due to my short, stubby fingers. The S-pen gives me more control over my typing.

As for the Note 9, it looks fantastic, but I'm going to be passing on it. My Note 8 has been rock solid and there's no way I can afford the 9.

I don't use headphone and play Fortnite. When I playing in public, I usually set on mute.  Also I pay 985.75 at Samsung.
