Samsung's Galaxy Note9 is official - 4000mAh battery, S Pen remote, 128GB/512GB storage

I think one thing people need to remember are monthly payments.

The phone is very expensive but split that price up in 2 years (and add in carrier subsidies for some countries) and you suddenly have a phone whose price becomes much more palatable.

I'm not defending the price but if you're ever wondering how people can afford expensive phones, that's your answer.

I just save up for a month or two outside of bills and whatnot, and buy what I need that's how I got a 1950x, a dead mobo/rmaing next week, and 16gbs of a ripjaw v at 3200mhz.  But, ya that's how I plan to buy my unlocked pixel 3 xl or rog phone.

Any words on the Pixel?

Yeah, usually regretful is what that feeling is called. Overpriced phones are overrated. People who day it's about the intangible things that make the difference are usually full of it because they can't actually come up with a real reason to buy overpriced things.

A big reason is because I can tbh

ROG phone?  Ridiculous fan for turbo, a 3ds like case, and a dock so you can phone game on your tv.

I really don’t get these gaming phones like why play games on a phone when you can whip out your laptop? More onto stuff like the Razer sock thing and those products, where it might as well be a chrome book.

I think it's moreso of wanting the very best and being able to afford it.

Android 9 Pie no doubt coming sometime in spring 2019... maybe.  Meanwhile, the Essential phone on my desk already has it!

I heard that this time it took essential 72 hours or something to get the latest update.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

Not even that -- I had it on my phone the day after Pie was official (through the standard update method, not a manual install), and I could have probably installed it earlier still.  Essential is admittedly a relatively small company with just one phone and a limited number of units, but still.. it makes me happy!

Took them a few hours tops. It launched the same day as it did on Pixel phones.

I can already hear the sighs of my fellow developers anticipating the samsung bloat bugs they'll have to deal with on TouchWiz...shame, cos the hardware seem nice (albiet overpriced)

TouchWiz doesn't exist anymore, and Samsung's current skin is no worse than the other ones. Not bloated at all.

Honestly, the divide of Android phones mainly seems to be the nice budget ($200-$400) phones and the underwhelming flagships ($700+). This is what kinda has put me off from delving into Android further. I've always wanted to give it a go, but where the fuck do I go when a flagship would be nice but I'd be mocked for owning one, or vice versa with the budget phones?

You don't want Android because the people you associate with would mock you?

1) Stop caring what other people think of your phone.

2) your friends/associates are really shallow.

I'm probably the only one sitting here looking at the Pixel 3 XL[fugly notch] and the fugly ass ROG phone.  First one has less bloatware, but they slapped a huge notch on it to get a speaker and a camera on the front, and the other one is just ridiculous and fugly.

The Asus will likely get loads of updates; I've been incredibly impressed with my Zenfone 3 Zoom, though the build leaves something to be desired.

The Pixel 3 XL looks fucking hideous. It looks like such a rookie design. Pretty disappointed tbh.

$999? LOL.
Not even my 1080Ti cost that much and let's me do a lot more than the phone could. I much rather go with some Chinese smartphone from a company like Xiaomi. $300 get's you a hell of a lot with them.

It does? It has a screen, and peripherals?

Unfortunately Xiaomi doesn't support a lot of North American bands.

iPhone my man....4 years old and still worth more than a year old android flagship.  Used S9's are selling for $250 and that's a current generation phone.  iPhone 6 64GB is selling for $200 and it's 4 years and 2 generations out of date.

I hate the iPhone, so no :P

I think you'd find it hard to find an S9 for that price. You're welcome to prove me wrong.

Samsung has always made killer hardware and I'm really digging the yellow pen. I detest the curved edges though. Makes it really hard to handle an already large phone.

Is that supposed to mean something? Is there some form of point?

Quite honestly, there is nothing actually worthwhile moving to the newer Android versions, especially for Samsung flagship owners.

Come Bloody Angel

Break off your chains

And look what I've found in the dirt.

Pale battered body

Seems she was struggling

Something is wrong with this world.

Fierce Bloody Angel

The blood is on your hands

Why did you come to this world?

Everybody turns to dust.

It probably just means the phone didn't launch with Pie
