Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

In other news, Magnus Walker crashed one of his Porsches today. He's fine, but the same can't be said of the car.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!

I loved that car!  :(

you wanted a link to my PC build log, here it is: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/436876-build-log-rat-rod-pc/

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Here's a problem that's been bugging me lately... I've bought a reversing camera and monitor (off ebay) and I've tested it at home with a 12V adapter and it works 100% fine. When I mount it in the car I just get random screen flickering. Through some testing I'm pretty sure the issue lies in the power connection. It's currently connected straight to the rear lights connector (that thing with pins - just put the positive end in pin2 and negative in pin3 as those receive a 12V signal when you put it in reverse) but no matter what I do I cant seem to get a stable signal (either it flickers for like 2 seconds or nothing at all). Is there a better way to do it without cutting the wire or using relays and stuff like that. You know, simple.

(hint*hint* reffering to my mothers nissan primera diesel... it breaks all the time (all service history is legit 100% followed up) and yet every thing breaks all the time, its currently got a big oil leak that no one can find)

as long as we can complain on those ugly as pice of poop SUVs to im in :P

theres probavly more then 12V when the car is running, like 13-14V this may be the problem, or the fact that that cable isn't supplying enough amps too keep it running, nothing i can think of that you can to other then to have a cable running from somewhere in the engine bay to there but that's neither simple or tidy

So apparently the UK is getting the mustang again (I didn't know they stopped getting them) and over 70% of the orders are for the 5L V8. I would not have guessed that with their gas prices.

The majority of British car nuts I know actually love American muscle. It was surprising to me.

Just watched it.

Apparently, a 458 Italia is faster than a Honda.

Yeah but do Ferrari have VTEC? I think NOT.

Whichever I can find at the time of purchase. If I end up with an Automatic, I'll manual swap it and further down the line when I have the money

You know I really wanted a 240 back in 2010 and I gave up when everyone of them had big problems on Craigslist. I didn't want to deal with that much problems also they asked 4k for them. I wish I got something then since they are more expensive now

So here's a thought and a question, kinda cause of you @RevoltTrain:

If you managed to get one of your dream cars, for example a 240sx, would you realistically ever sell it for whatever reason?

If I got a Cadillac cts/ats and it had 600 hp while it handled like the best car. I'd kill myself before selling it.

how many of you will join me in an epic crusade to nissan's hq and tell them to imediately rid the world of the horrible things they call wagons? (hint*hint* reffering to my mothers nissan primera diesel... it breaks all the time (all service history is legit 100% followed up) and yet every thing breaks all the time, its currently got a big oil leak that no one can find)

I would go to Nissan to tell them to bring a 240 successor

its sortof a sleeper PC [emoji14]

Please don't double. Not a command just a sugesstion

I would go for the ecoboost even though I'm in the stat3s. Because I'm guessing that it's a lighter car. Also coyotes sound awesome bu5 expensive

No love for the coyote?
