Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

Update on my Miata!

Got it lowered on coilovers, fitted some Rota Grid V 15x8+0 with Toyo 195/50R15s. Rubs a little bit on the left rear but I didn’t roll the fender that much on that arch so just a little more adjustment.

Up next is a front splitter that I will be fabricating, and a Battle Aero chassis wing (for aesthetics I mean, I plan to put a VF39 turbo along with some other goodies for performance mods, in fact I will be rebuilding the engine once I have the parts together).

needs a hardtop :P

oh and you need one too @bcredeur97

too much camber for me lol

turbo is cool though, I can't say I've heard of people using a VF39 on a miata before, nor do I know of what it really is... how would it compare with a GT2554R setup that I'd like?

reinforce? Cut all major rust out make sure it's not rusting from inside-out. Put new metal. Then reinforce...

(you'll need to take weight off frame to do this probably...)

To cut out all rust would mean there's nothing of the rear left.

my plan is to box over the frame rails from the cab back with 1/8" steel. it's the rear half of the truck that's bad, front is perfectly solid.

Looked like fun. We were hit by a few inches of snowfall mid-week and freezing rain overnight.

Sounds like a plan, just don't go nuts and make sure you don't kill a bearing or two.

Going to put in Manley H-Beam rods, Supertech pistons, Wiseco rings, ACL race bearings, ARP head and main studs, billet oil pump.... I have a full list of the stuff I’m doing to the car.

It’s the turbo from the WRX STI.

edit: And that’s just stock camber, I didn’t touch the alignment.

Those Manley H beams are nice for the price.

Just make sure you don’t use Supertech valve stem seals. People have problems with those... the pistons they make are awesome though because they emulate the stock piston expansion rate which means you get less cylinder wall wear compared to most forged piston setups!

your camber changed from lowering it. Also I noticed you put 195’s... good luck putting down power with those lol

i run 195/50R16’s daily on mine. I know people usually go for at least a 225 setup for maximum grip. I think I’ve seen 245’s squeezed on once or twice too

Alive but busy.

Got her first oil change/general inspection under my ownership. Haven’t driven her as much as I would like to recently, mostly because of the snow and the fact that having the top up creates two massive blind spots which makes it a bit more nerve wracking to drive. Come springtime I’ll get to enjoy her a bit more.
