Car Enthusiast Club [Now Motorcycle friendly!] - First thread to 150k! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

good luck! for me i passed on my first try, might not be the same for you, but don't let that put you down. try hard not to fail is all i'll say.

I really have no need for a license atm because I can't take a car to college. Just kinda late for a license at 18.

It's extremely expensive, insurance is expensive, I live on campus, and I would need a car.

I haven't really needed to drive. It's inconvenient but the cost outweighed the benefits (drivers ed, insurance, etc.)

i suppose. but some, like san jose state, allow it, and i'm kinda happy about it, since san jose is basically a mecca for car culture.

Mine does but they is it charge a lot for parking, like $300/semester. So I park about 8/10ths of a mile away in a free spot and walk the rest

makes the commute interesting though, kinda like it.

Man that would be embarrassing. Car guy failing a drivers test? Ouch.

Just fuckin' with you, you'll do fine. Just don't run over children, contrary to popular belief they are not worth more points.

Mate, in Portugal (not sure if the same goes for other European countries) you can only get your driver's license at 18... Which means, I can only get mine in 9 months.

This is becoming pretty common as of lately on all newer cars. Though most makers aren't stingy and cover it under their warranties.

jesus christ, that's a crazy amount for a parking permit. at my high school, they're free, but there's a limited supply. and college i'm not sure if they're free or if you have to pay for them.

its kinda funny how the uk trusts you more with an open aired motorcycle at a younger age more than an enclosed vehicle. their logic is absolutely fucked up.

now i'm quite worried san jose state charges for parking permits, because even though they haven't listed prices for parking permits on their website, i'm worried they might just surprise me with charges when i apply for one when i go to college in like a year or two.

yeah, but in this case, toyota refuses to fix it under warranty because they thought rodent damage was an "act of nature". well if they wanted to prevent rodents from chewing through, THEN THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE USED SOY BASED INSULATION. they should've known better.
