Don't lump me in with them. I'm an enthusiast of mechanic design, be it engines, weaponry, or productive machinery. Not a guy with a wrench that reads the marketing garbage AFE/insert other "enthusiast" brand that can't legally warranty half of their products.

I fail to see a correlation between people screeching variations of "forced induction is more efficient!!! Reclaimed energy!!!" and anything I've said.

If you can't be civil. Please leave

Edit. That goes for everyone in the thread

and then a re-rebuild. The bottom ends on 7m's are just bad. If you really wanted to make due with the 7m block I think you have to bore out oil galleries or something.

i might just cut my losses and go ebay turbo and whip up a turbo manifold myself. though, considering how cheap this car is, i might just spend the money and get a reliable system. and maybe i'll keep the paint job, but put some new suspension components and wheels. and update the interior to a modernish taste.

i think i'll go 1.5jz (2jz block, 1jz head) for best of both worlds. strong 2jz block, better breathing 1jz head.

Own the shop; hire the mechanic

if you can be a good person to work for, while keeping the doors open

cost money to just open up a shop, and I mean  a good one that has potential. Not some rinky dink place in the middle of nowhere or in the ghetto

which means it would have to be something I'd do later on in life after I go through another job... I really should just continue on the path I have, it would be stupid not to.. Im just discouraged and tired of it already when I shouldn't be :(

it's possible. http://www.superstreetonline.com/features/1408-1991-toyota-soarer-jdm/ benefits are great low end torque, plus better breathing up top. i think the 1jz head is a direct bolt on to the 2jz long block.

The quick googling I did made it seem like the advantages include:

- faster spooling turbos from higher exhaust port velocity

But you have to get the 1jz VVTi head, and someone said 1jz electronics

Someone else also mentioned you got 500cc more displacement.

There seems to be a lot of missinformation about this, but a 1.5jz sounds like a heckin cool combination.

honestly i never thought it was possible to do it, until people started doing it. some day, i'll take a project car and swap a 1.5jz into it, regardless of what current engine it's got. that is, in the future, when i have enough money to support a family of 5, and making a very good income, and have enough extra income to spend on a project car.

The 1jz breathes better? I mean I don't know much about Toyota, but I would of figured that would be a well known swap if true.

well people say the 1jz head spools the turbos faster since more exhaust fumes can be shoved out faster, and the 1jz is a smaller engine, so it can rev higher, so the valves i assume can move faster.

holy fucking shit this is like the most insane sleeper minivan i've seen yet, short of the bisimoto 1000hp odyssey. plus it's rwd (a rarity on a minivan) so it could drift if it was set up right. http://www.superstreetonline.com/features/modp-1207-1993-mazda-mpv/

Its probably just porting. A good way to find out if anything is different is to cross reference valves and camshafts.

Anyone here good with head units? I got a new AM/FM receiver with Bluetooth and all for Christmas but honestly I have no idea how to install it. I was told that I need to find a proper harness/adapter thing but I don't know where to look.

It's just something like this, I'm not sure if it has its own proprietary connector if they use some sort of universal connector:

9eaced56-8f37-4f38-bac3-7b78b542ea99_1.0

And my car is an '85 MR2 if that helps any. If all comes to worse can I just splice it into the existing harness? How difficult would that be?

I've been having this issue sooo much, on and off, for about 3 months. The player is trying to load an add, and if you leave it  sitting for about 15 second to 30 seconds, the add will time out, and the video will play.

I've been having browser problems where YouTube with take the piss loading videos, not load videos, have constant buffering issues, not load comments, freeze loading an ad, etc.

And it's just Chrome because Edge and Firefox don't do that. The problem is I don't like Edge and Firefox.

Been having the same issue lately. YT videos just won't play at all. I close and re-open chrome, nope. Restart the PC, nope. The only thing that finally worked for me last night is clearing browser history and cookies. Instantly started working again.

I don't think I would own or even drive a car that didn't let you have complete control over the steering if something happened with the power steering.

What was one of those newer vehicles that removed the rod that connects the steering wheel to the rack? Yeah no thanks, electrical problems happen and I like living.

I thought it was a law you had to have direct linkage between the wheel and the steering linkage.
