What is so wrong about getting your PC money from parents?

I have 500GB and I have like 100GB left
EDIT: woah, idk what happened but I only have 15GB left (probably some cache thing, I think it should be about 45GB left excluding the cache) :(

I have a 240GB SSD with a fully updated install of Windows 7 Pro, 10 movies, 18000 songs and 12000 pictures and still have 160GB left. Something is wrong with your drive.

I agree, He's still young. He still needs to face life and the challenges of life. It's not going to be easy. The reality is when our parents are gone, who will look after us?

I was homeless less than a year ago, look at how far I've come just by working my ass off.

Btw, what do you sell in your store?

I repair cell phones, sell used ones, repair laptops, desktops, and the occasional dusty console.

Strictly Apple free. Fuck planned obsolescence.

Edit: I've had an MSI 760G resting on my leg for the last hour or so, one of the USBs is broken and I need to resolder it.

Yeah I believe you, I just wonder what kind of irrelevant stuff you have on that drive then. A lot of options which take up a lot of space can be disabled too. The fact that I only use like 80-90GB says something, mind you I have all applications installed on it (besides my games)

I have a bunch of video files on there (probably around 100GB-ish) which I can't be bothered to move since they are tied to some of my premiere pro projects :P

Also there is at least 30GB of music and documents and other miscellaneous stuff. Not sure what is taking the rest of my space, probably excessive amounts of programs or something, need to check windirstat.

hello!

is it me you're looking for?

-Overkill Dell XPS

Fully maxed out early 2017 Dell XPS 15, GTX 1050 4GB, 7700HQ, 1TB nvme SSD, 32GB RAM, 4k display. 97Whr battery :x
Dell was having a $600 off sale for the fully specced out model, so I decided to get it :P

-Crapbook

Fully specced out early 2013 Macbook "pro" with gt 650m and constant 105c temperature on the CPU (GPU is 80-90C) when doing anything intensive...

A 2013 laptop with a regular sized battery still has better battery life than a 2017 laptop with a massive battery! I think this is a testament to apple's ability at making laptops, or maybe how little CPU technology has improved even 4+ years later (at least, until the recent introduction of 15W 4 core CPUs). Anyway, I'm never going to get a 35W CPU laptop again unless battery technology becomes ~5x better than as it is in 2018.

Apple knows how to make proper consumer-grade laptops (they don't know how to make pro laptops though). I guess this mostly software power efficiency related, but getting a mac makes perfect sense if you want a portable/powerful laptop that can do anything you want it to with great battery life.

Buying a pc for 5800$ when you're not particularly rich is stupid in general. Why the fuck would you buy such a expensive computer anyways? Unless you got a job that require that you have a beast computer it's just fucking dumb.

I couldn't agree with you more on that.

There's nothing inherently wrong with it if your parents gave you the money out of their own generosity, it's up to them to decide whether it was a reasonable choice or not. If instead you nagged them into desperation then there is a problem.

My parents could have afforded something like that for me without giving much of anything up, but they wouldn't have on principle because they don't think spending 6k on a pc for someone who wouldn't have used it for a special job makes any sense. I agree with them. But again, that would be for your parents to decide.

I spent over a hundred hours working in a butchershop getting my humble PC and you get a 5.8K AMERICAN PC from your parents when you live in the poorest country in Europe. You really dont understand how much money that is do you? Thats more than 2 cheap used cars, rent for almost a year, enough for a whole fucking kitchen reno. You need to get a job and appreciate how much money that is, because you dont understand. Thats MONTHS of your parents life to a PC thats already obsolete. Why did you even think you needed something that god damn expensive?!?!? Youre /15/ not a 30 year old professional video editor. Get your priorities straight kid.

Most people don't spend $700 on their kids phones.  During high-school I went to two schools, a mid-lower class school and a rich school.  The regular school was full of people who worked (sometimes 30+ hours) on top of school to afford their phones, phone plans and crappy second hand cars.  The rich school was full of kids with brand new iphones and cars bought by daddy.  You act like either a rich kid or someone who has consistently gotten everything they want while being surrounded by others who get everything they want, ie upper class.

Enjoy your PC, I hope it was worth it

its an 1800x and 2 gtx 1080's

It may depend on location, but I have seen plenty of kids going around with iphones and high end android phones in the middle class environment I live in. We have free education here though so there is no such thing as a "rich" or "poor" school other than the occasional private institution.

Homelessness is not good. We've got a few here in Birmingham, especially near the city center. :(

So only you don't repair Apple Phones? How long have you been working/owning the store? I do PC repairs but from home. People come or I go to their houses to repair their stuff.
