I don't agree with him being punished, but he was foolish to do it in the first place, and it's at G2A's discrepancy on whether to ban him or not.

he didnt know that they would find his account as he blotted out his account name

The guy did say that if people are found to be selling stolen keys then their account funds are frozen for 14 days and guy basically went and proved to them he had been selling stolen keys, looked like a stupid move to me. Also call me a conspiracy theorist, but it all looked a little smooth on the investigators side and wouldn't surprise me if Ubi/Origin/Steam put someone up to this.

It appears a dickmove, but the guy basically admitted to selling stolen keys after they said funds are frozen if accounts are suspicious - pretty stupid for him to bitch about them being frozen after that ...

He didn't admit to selling stolen keys. All he did was point out that there is no verification by referencing his previous sales which were legit key sales. He then made a fake sale to prove that the fake key didn't go through any verification and was available for sale immediately.

It seemed that sometimes keys would just randomly get flagged to give the appearance of being checked but weren't actually as they could be put back up within an hour.

While he did break the TOS he did it for a very clear reason and his ban just looks like an upset kid taking home his football cuz he didn't get to play the position he wanted. Like djdwosk97 pointed out he wasn't banned outright. He just can't cash out his wallet or buy stuff. He's free to keep making money for G2A.

I don't see the ban sticking. The guy kept pointing out how everything the G2A rep said to him was fake and when cornered they just banned him instead of doing anything to fix the problems. It just reinforces people's opinion of the site which I'm assuming was the exact opposite goal of the AMA.

I'm glad their shit is being exposed more and more. It took half a year to resolve a bogus key with them and I'm clearly not alone.

It should be a forum rule that it's against community guidelines to even suggest their services.

What happens is someone steals a credit card, goes and buys a bunch of game keys on the stolen credit card. And then posts them for sale on G2A, the credit card company issues a chargeback once the fraudulent sales are reported and then the game dev/publishers void those keys.

It would be pretty hard to safeguard against this I'd imagine. I can't think of a way g2a could actually.

G2a's own protective service "sheild"  is useless. Even when spend extra for ease of mind, they jerk you around.

G2A was always sketchy to me. Would never use them in the past ... most definitely will not use them in the future. I will continue to not recommend them.

Discussing hackintoshes is banned in this forum, but you can loudly and proudly recommend G2A, Kinguin, or some other gray market site.

Doesn't make much sense. This forum has lots of young members and the last thing they need is to deal with a shady company trying to get refunds on cards that belongs to their parents or some other unpleasant experience.

I'm glad i stopped using g2a long ago, they seem pretty shitty and have no respect towards the industry.  And out of the handful of games a bought from them 2 were revoked from my steam account months later, probably because they were bought with stolen credit cards.

Never gotten something in G2A, never will. Especially now.

wow people are really ripping into them

what do they mean "through Direct they can make more money"

what is Direct?

I've found out that G2A "direct" is a system they have that reimburses the dev 10% of the sale cost of a product to the dev.

G2A direct is pretty much only populated with the type of free to play shit that we hate on mobile, various other f2p stuff. Superhot and Redout are the only major titles I seen on it.

damn what a dumb fucking thing to do, like they would be able to bury this and turn it into a he said she said shitfight. I guess G2A doesn't like having returning customers.

Not surprising at all. Totalbiscuit had a video about them many, many months ago.

G2A is a fucking joke. Yet I'm sure many will still use it just to get stuff cheaper. Heaven forbid we support those who make the games.
