Not surprising at all. Totalbiscuit had a video about them many, many months ago.

G2A is a fucking joke. Yet I'm sure many will still use it just to get stuff cheaper. Heaven forbid we support those who make the games.

"hurr durr, but i'm paying for a key that's already been paid"

People keep telling that to themselves. I dunno, my views have slowly shifted to being against hoarding games just because you can. What's the point of spending $60 on four games if you're only really going to play one of them?

to have something to play when you're bored to death of that one game and your daily chore-like game (overwatch in my case)

One day I will be able to play Monster Hunter Frontier in French/Italian/English on my PC, it's just a matter of time... 4 5 6 7 8 9 years later: It's finally coming!!!

So apparently you need to provide proof of purchase with every single game you try to sell on G2A now.

No surprise here. Sites like G2A and Kinguin are mostly just crooks. Buy games from official Steam resellers, wait for a sale, or move on with your life.

Ok so how many of you denounce G2A and Kinguin and all others for their "stolen" keys?

And now how many of you have actually paid honest, full retail money for a Windows key in the last couple of years?

*sees all hands drop*

I thought as much. Grey area stores exists because hardware prices are far more accessible than the ability from people to afford the prices Microsoft asks for and don't even start with specialized software it gets much worst fast.

I don't need to buy windows, I get it for free legitimately from school. That said, if I needed windows for a computer and I didn't have the keys from school, I just wouldn't activate it, everyone is happy, Microsoft still gets my data and I still get windows. (that might change when I get a real job, but for now it doesn't matter)

Tell me about it. Like people that think that buying Windows keys that way. "Oh, the seller bought OEM keys from Microsoft for xx amount and just resells them, they're not losing money."

Right.

Haha, I never got that to begin with. I have a friend who has probably 150 or 200 games, and likes to have them all installed at once. Then complains that he never gets to play them. No shit son, that's way too many.

G2A has many flaws, including ones that I haven't (and don't want to) point out to them. One major one is purchasing via PayPal and then just refunding the purchase. It goes through every time. It's fraudulent, but considering their company does this sort of shit they kind of deserve it IMO

idk

I don't get it. Why use sites like g2a? Wait for a sale or go to IndieGala. Indie gala only uses keys provided by the devs themselves.

Wishing leads to ambition and ambition leads to motivation and motivation leads to me building an illegal rocket ship in my backyard.

cause i enjoy the thought that there's an high chance that i might hurt ubi or ea where it hurts the most by buying a key there than simply going to tpb

That's fucking stupid. You're not going to hurt them. Chances are, keys from AAA games have already been paid for.

The issue with stolen keys is primarily with indie devs who sell their games on third party sites. Scammers will use a faulty card to pay for a load of keys, then the order gets cancelled, the dev has to pay a fee, and the scammers make off with a bunch of free keys that they resell.

Not only the above but ubisoft and EA are big enough they dont give a shit.

And you are still putting money into the pockets of the people hosting the thieves ill-gotten content.

And what is the desire to hurt them? You realize the developers at these studios actually put their heart and soul into these games that you buy? If you wanted to "hurt them" then don't buy the game at all. Or pirate it. Pirating is a lot smarter than buying a stolen key. At least you won't be getting ripped off.

pirating hurts no one, buying from g2a may do it. I have no feels for big publishers who frankly don't give two flying fucks about their devs teams

I don't follow your logic here. How does buying from g2a hurt them? If anything it hurts you. You're spending money and they aren't getting any of it.

If you pirate, then you don't spend money and they don't get any of it. Same effect; different cost.

Regardless of all of that, you're trying to hurt a shitty company by supporting an even more shitty company. Sounds like you're just trying to justify being cheap.

I don't think you realize how this works. Developers have unlimited cdkeys. The only thing they'd be losing by you buying a key from g2a, is you as a customer. However, they'd also lose you as a customer if you just pirated.
