HP introduces a new gorgeous looking 13inch laptop, with impressive specs.

The system is powered with Core i5 or i7 dual core CPUs (i5-6200U or i7-6500U), Intel HD Graphics 520, features a 1080p screen, 8GB of RAM, the base model features 256GB PCIe, option to go to 512GB. The display is not a touch screen, but features Gorilla Glass 4. The laptop is only 10.4mm thick

 

The laptop is the Spectre 13, featuring HP new and sleek company logo.

Most of the body of the laptop is made in dark gray aluminum, its bottom is lighter-weight carbon fiber.

 

Mike Nash, HP's vice president of consumer PCs says:

We know that. We've seen Apple do that. But our customers want Core i, and I'm here to tell you today we pulled it off.

The laptop features 9.5h of battery life, claims HP, and 2 fans to cools the CPU.

 

The laptop has headphone jack, 3 USB-Type C connector, where one can be used to charged the laptop, and 2 of these ports are Thunderbolt 3.

Hp will start pre-orders April 25th, and ship May 22nd. And it has a starting at $1169.99 U.S

This thing is beautiful! I wonder what usage is required to get 9.5 hours of battery life. I'd really like to see a higher-resolution 15" version (1080p is perfect for 13", but I like bigger screens).

That's a gorgeous design. My reaction:

 

I have one problem with the chip choice though. They should have gone for the HD 540 models instead. Windows OEMs could learn a little from Apple. Graphical horsepower is increasingly important, so using SKUs with the HD 540 or similar is the way to go. And more 28W designs (like the Macbook Pro). It can't be that hard. The HD 520 should be reserved for cheaper models.

One reason why I would like my XPS 13 more is the USB 3.0 ports since I have no USB C devices or do I want to carry around an adapter at this moment.
