I personally would have liked it a slightly higher res display, something like the Surface, but not 4K. Should've gone with the HD 540 graphics too while staying within the 15w tdp limit. All that amazing design, it better have amazing display being paired with. Owh and not shitty trackpad.

Kidding aside, this is sooo sexy. So sexy that I'll probably hold off getting an xps for the meantime

Looking at the image again, it appears to be a shot at Apple for going full retard with last years Macbook.

A GOOD HP Laptop?! Well, it looks good. Performance-wise, we'll have to see. I do have my hopes up, though.

I feel like HP wanted to make a computer that just looked expensive. Black and gold reminds me of those $5000 luxury phones and purses lol

it does look smexy tho :3

xD, honestly me and my family have never had problems with HP laptops.

his last one before his current one was an XP one he had for 8 years.

we see how long this one lasts, been 1 year so far and counting. xD

These marketing images look much better than the photographs posted on The Verge. IMHO, this laptop looks rather tacky. Especially the hinges, and the fingerprint magnet they're attached to.

you must be lucky! every HP device i've encountered either had the motherboard die (not even worth fixing) or the power delivery circuit fry (still salvageable in my book) or power jack going bonkers (easiest to fix imo)

What do you think of HP new high-end laptop?

Could use more ram, but I like the design.

Guess I'll just add this onto my list of potential laptops to buy :P

This is a very nice laptop in terms of aesthetics. I personally would rather have seen a 720p screen, paired with an Iris Pro SKU if possible. At such a small screen size, 720p wouldn't be that bad, and the Skylake Iris Pro SKU's would be more than powerful enough for some medium-high gaming at that resolution, while also consuming less power than a mobile dGPU.

I am still holding out hope that I will live to see a 720p Iris Pro netbook. Something extremely portable that can game without being tethered to a wall due to high end components.

So apple does gold, everyone throws a sh*t fit.

HP does gold (or copper more like), and now it's "Gorgeous" and "sexy".

Everyone claims to hate shiny stuff on computers because it leaves finger prints.... Yet it's everywhere here and people are fine with it...

I don't get this community sometimes :P

Looks terrible imo. If they offered other color combinations I would consider buying it however.

"Normandy" i7 4790K - GTX 970 - Phantom 410 (Gun metal) - Z97 Extreme4 (asrock) - 128GB Crucial SSD - 1TB WD HDD - H60 Refurb. - 7 case fans | G710+ Keyboard, G230 Headset, Acer GN246HL Monitor.

Quick thoughts on system: I7 is extremely quick and I'm glad I spent the extra for hyper-threading. I regret my decision to get the GTX 970, it has horrible coil whine. There isn't any excuse for this terrible whine I and others are having. I HIGHLY recommend a 144hz monitor. Future Improvements/upgrades: Rubber fan mounts, basic speakers, more ram (for a total of 16gb), replace GPU.

144hz is love. 144hz is life. I like to submit unfinished posts then do about 20 edits. I like the Night Theme too.

Nice laptop but I think all the ports being on the back will get annoying fast.

I have 720p on my 13 inch laptop, and widows looks like crap at that resolution. With everything at 100% scaling the UI is still to big, and not very sharp. 1080 or 1440 is great on 13 inches.
