Do you guys put your PCs on your desk or below it?

I'd either put it on the floor or create a compromise and put it on something like an Ikea Lack sitting next to your desk for instance (if space permits that is).

Yeah. It actually turns out to be $9.99 in america though. Which still isn't too bad.

Floor is usually more convenient, but if I went through any effort regarding aesthetics it's nice to be able to see it. I would definitely floor if I had a tower case though.

I have it on the floor, with lots of ghetto filtering, and it seem to be quite happy. 

 

Bare in mid its on a wooden floor.

Moved from the desk to the floor since the G27 is always attached to the desk now.

I could get a bigger galant tabletop. Currently 160x80cm

i made my desk using 8 table legs i bought 32 screws and two old desk tableboards in a diy warehouse

I always put mine on the desk just cuz I like to look at it and it forces anyone who enters my room to also see it xD. In your case I'd just put in on the floor. No carpets though.

You could put it on carpet as long as there are no bottom intakes. You can flip the power supply in most cases.

I've no idea why the world is afraid of 3D-printed guns when clearly 3D-printed crossbows would be more practical for now.

Higher up means less dust.

 

If you've got a fan in the base of the case then even more reason to have it up high. If you have a fan in the base of the case that you're cooling depends on then definitely don't put it on carpet.

 

Having a desk between you and the machine can help to deflect the noise coming from the machine.

 

Maybe you can put something next to the desk to put the P.C. on? A chest of draws or some such thing?

I'm getting the desks from Ikea thats always recommended by the forums. It gives me the option to put my pc on top of my desk or under.

 

which one? is there any advantages on top?

 

will it reduce dust build up in my PC if i put it on top? i have wood flooring and a dog.

I have my tower in a desk where it has a compartment under the desk. It is lifted from the ground about 4 inches and it gets so much dust... The flooring is regular tile (no carpet) and i have no pets... Can't figure it out. *** So i would go for top... Specially if your case is windowed..

Top: Less dust, wastes more desktop space. Good if you have windowed case.

Under: More dust, takes less space. Cable management can be easier. Airflow might be restricted.

I would say on top of the desk if you have space for it, but it's not terrible to put on the ground as you have wood floor and no cats.

On top of the desk would mean you can reach the ports in the back easier and you can work on your PC while it's on the desk (and don't have to crawl under your desk. Personally, I find that really helpful.

My computer is on the floor next to my desk on laminate.

I would put it on my desk, but A. Space is limited and B. It would get the full blast of morning sun on it's rear side panel.... Which would lead to discolouring/ HOT

On desktop it can be more noisy. I prefer on the floor, out of the way. If you vacuum the floor regularly, you won't gather that much dust.
