with the proper fan curve, your desktop can be quite quiet :P

i cant hear mine even when i'm gaming since all my fans are on low RPM

Top desk: air filters for the intakes aren't a must, pc case don't matter.

Bottom desk: air filters is highly recommended, tower also must have some leg height from the carpet so it won't suffocate.

I have no air filters because I wanted to see if I could make some DIY ones. Still no idea LET THERE BE DUST

uhh for me it's first two system fans are outs and the other two are intakes. I'm an idiot at curves so this seems okay to me

i dislike side panel to be opened because it feels like air is going out the sides instead of removing the hot air from my gpu (open air cooler)

DIY filter = stockings, though it can be awkward to get a pair unless you're a girl `-`

i use fan xpert to turn off all but 1 intake fan during low load/idle

and ramp up the other fans to their minimum rpm during heavy load

you can do this with other softwares i suppose

my fan curve: (my cpu never get past 65c)

Spoiler

My mATX case is too large to fit on top of my desk so I have it on the floor. It's awkward cuz it's not a mid-tower so it looks far too small on the floor but its not a Mac Pro or a super optimized ITX case to look good up top.

So my setup is really cramped and the keyboard is to the left of me, which is already doing bad for my wrists. Should I keep my PC up on my desk as it has been for a year, or should i put it down on the floor (elevated a bit) to the left of my desk. My house is SUPER dusty, so i would be doing more cleaning if it was on the floor, which would actually be good

I really can't make up my mind :C

Thanks in advance ;D

Hmm i would say that you should put your pc on the floor since it cramp on your desk. however, i would not recommend you it if your floor is carpet. Since my floor is carpet, i put my pc on my desk. If I ever wish to put my pc on the floor for let say making more space, I will fine something rise my pc legs higher away from carpet

have mine on the floor because desk is too small, works fine. If the computer has a power supply fan on the bottom, put a board or something under the machine.

Desktop: Core i5-6400, 16gb DDR4, Asus H110M-K, GTX 970, 240gb Crucial BX200, 1TB 5200rpm Samsung Spinpoint, 1TB WD Green, 250gb WD Scorpio Blue, Corsair CS550M, Zalman Z1 Neo, TP Link TL-WDN4800.

Laptop: HP Stream 13: Intel Celeron N2840, 2GB DDR3, 32GB e-mmc, iGPU.

"Test Bench": Pentium 4 HT 3.4GHz, 2GB DDR2, Dell Dimension 8400 Mobo and PSU, ATI X550, random hard drives
