Yup guys, it's real!

 

The petition to block the front-running Republican presidential candidate from entering the country ,  whichhas attracted more than 200,000 signatures -- more than enough for a committee to consider sending the motion for parliamentary debate, was created on the British government's official petitions website in response to Trump's call Monday to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. due to the threat of terrorism.

"The UK has banned entry to many individuals for hate speech. The same principles should apply to everyone who wishes to enter the UK," read the petition, which was created by Suzanne Kelly, a woman from Aberdeen, Scotland, who has previously campaigned against Trump's political and business activities.

 

"If the United Kingdom is to continue applying the 'unacceptable behavior' criteria to those who wish to enter its borders, it must be fairly applied to the rich as well as poor, and the weak as well as powerful," the petition stated.

 

Any petition that gets more than 100,000 signatures is considered by Parliament's Petitions Committee, which weighs whether to send the petition for debate by lawmakers in Parliament.

Even though he is a retard, I don't think he should just be banned from entering countries. Why would HE be banned, and other people who also spread hate shouldn't?

They are banning him because of his hate speech, which is an offense in the UK. Plus they can ban people from entering the country on that basis.

The UK has laws in place that prevent people who are advocates of hate speech from entering the country, Trump wants to ban ALL ​Muslims from entering the US, that's pretty hateful, and I personally don't want him here, as well as 200K others.

Most countries have these laws.

Another example of this is that, somewhat recently, people petitioned the Australian and Canadian government to ban a guy who was going to be hosting so called "dating seminars" because they were apparently extremely mysoginistic and promoted violence against women.

The petition means nothing really, you can get anything to be "considered" for debate if you get 100k signatures. But Westminster is under no obligation to give any meaningful consideration to it, let alone debate it. Regardless, it was already brought up at PMQs today (with George Osbourne stepping in). And it was swatted aside pretty succinctly, banning a US presidential candidate from the UK, is not going to happen.
