W11 changes sound?

Go to solution Solved by Guest,

Turn off audio enhancements and also don't use any weird driver feautres, like disable any sound control panels like realtek control center or anything else you may have. Set sample rate to 48KHz and bit depth to the highest available.

Hey y'all, I recently updated from W10 to W11, reluctantly. No sooner I do, and now the sound from videos sounds like it's slightly sped up - a higher octave - like making everyone sound like a little girl. Is this really a thing that can happen from the update or just coincidence and it's my sound card or something else?

Thoughts?

Complications of what you had configured on your old system, drivers, applications, etc.. combine with doing an "upgrade" from the sounds of it. I've had 11 installed on 5 personal machines now from prior to it launching as an Insider and have never experienced anything like what you're describing.

What sound card do you have? Have you completely deleted all drivers and removed the device from device manager then cleanly installed them again?

That did the trick, thank you!
