China Still Hacking US Firms, Denies It Of Course, Despite Agreement

"CrowdStrike says its software at five US technology companies and two pharmaceutical companies detected state-sponsored attacks after the agreement.

Details gathered about the attacks support the involvement of the Chinese government. Dmitri Alperovitch, co-founder of CrowdStrike, says the servers and software used in the attacks point to the government."

hey, china spends a lot of money sending students to america, it would be very beneficial to steal our research and form their own secondary education system that rivals our own. china is a world power that lacks the research edge of america, germany/france, or japan. If they want to shift from a production state to a development state they have to invest in intellectual growth, and stealing it from the US is an amazing short cut. 

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.

How exactly do they know that it was a State Sponsored attack, just how? The IP range? That can be spoofed or even hacked in.

This. There is some speculation in the netsec world that Russia is actually responsible and that they are trying their best to make it seem as if China is the culprit.

agreements are meant to be broken, just look at the US-EU Save Harbor Agreement

Well, the thing is. China has all to gain (tech breakthroughs, corporate secrets etc) while US tries to protect its monetary interests, so basically a shit ton to lose.

I've read one article before about some American dude quit his job from a big paint company to move to China(not sure what descent he is from) but he thought to have brought corporate secrets with him. I think he got snagged by FBI when trying to leave the country.

On a different note, Israel is actually more prominent in hacking inside NATO, targeting US specially the defense department.

hey, china spends a lot of money sending students to america, it would be very beneficial to steal our research and form their own secondary education system that rivals our own. china is a world power that lacks the research edge of america, germany/france, or japan. If they want to shift from a production state to a development state they have to invest in intellectual growth, and stealing it from the US is an amazing short cut.

you have no idea how many Chinese students spend their entire bachelors/masters/Ph.D.  education time in america. 

We can't Benchmark like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to shove more GPUs in your computer. Like the time I needed to NV-Link, because I needed a higher HeavenBench score, so I did an SLI, which is what they called NV-Link back in the day. So, I decided to put two GPUs in my computer, which was the style at the time. Now, to add another GPU to your computer, costs a new PSU. Now in those days PSUs said OCZ on them, "Gimme 750W OCZs for an SLI" you'd say. Now where were we? Oh yeah, the important thing was that I had two GPUs in my rig, which was the style at the time! They didn't have RGB PSUs at the time, because of the war. The only thing you could get was those big green ones.
