Experiences with non-techies

It does look like PCI actually, but the 7800 was PCIe (Except for one AGP version but that wasn't that)

So now you see my confusion :P

If you look you'll see the card has multiple "section" on the connector, similar to an AGP card... though I might be wrong. xD

No, it's definitely not AGP. I have an ATI Rage 128 Pro that's AGP, and the pins look nothing like PCI or PCIe:

Yeah it does kinda look like that, but I'm not sure, because the fourth "section" of pins looks a bit too long to be AGP pro.

I think it's a PCi-e 16x card.

Look at the difference between the first and second slots and look at the third circle, where you can see the pci-e 16 lock. The pin spacing on the card also points to it being pci-e

When was that post from though? Cuz that graphics card is like 10 years old....

The imgur post was from 3 years ago, but it didn't lead anywhere, so I'm wondering if you have any idea.

A bit of history on that cut up XFX 7800GTX

The original picture was from 10+ years ago, when both the 7800GTX and 7800GT are still brand new and PCI Express just became the standard for graphic cards. A lot of people are still using P4s or AMD Athlon XP with AGP.

Here is the original thread, I still remember like it was yesterday.  xD

Thread is still alive, last post made 2015. Need to bump it. :D

I don't understand why review 1 & 3 are so bad? - Review two has me confused... probably because there isn't any context, and their English is terrible.

Review 1 without context is impossible to comment on, but it may be entirely true - the Macbook Pro, or Mac Pro is a powerful bit of kit and was bleeding edge up until Skylake.

Review 3 should probably have invested some money into buying a decent laptop, rather than buying the cheapest Windows PC... But OS X on PCIe SSDs is amazingly fluid and quick, their keyboards have been a dream to type on since circa 2011, and iMovie is a pretty good bit of software for the home-user.

I know. I just chose ones that might have something wrong with them.

Also there's quite a few more reviews from that. I tried deleting those but it didn't work.

I'm surrounded by them - Dad is an Architect who for his professional & private life uses a laptop for 8+ hours a day (and carried in a briefcase to building sites and has never been protected with a carry case). Just managed to get him to upgrade from his old Macbook Pro (2008) as it was literally falling apart.

Let me guess, he just handed it over and started using it?  Like didn't bother formatting at all or anything either?

Its a probook, part of hp business line up. Still a lot better than todays cheap crap. Probably came with vista business and the downgrade rights to xp pro. Can probably upgrade ram and change to a ssd.

They most likely cost at least $1,500 when it was new. Before backlit led keys. There is a built in led lamp on the bezel of the screen. Can't tell if that one has.

Personal preference - I'd rather have a (new) 2008 Macbook Pro as I like the aluminium finish, rather than the cheap plastic feel of the HP with mushy keys.

That said, I'd sooner buy a Ce-lol-ron Chromebook than either of them.

It came with vista business and got downgraded rights to pro. Can't tell by pic, what model that is. A quick search based on cpu, came up with this.
