it's not under warranty anymore, its a few years old. Yeah I reckoned so as well. If it's not dead yet then I could plug it back in and try to see if theres anything to back up from it, and if its already dead then I don't think I can do it any more harm. Can I plug it back in while the PC is on, will windows recognize it or do I have to shut down first then plug it in and then start the system?

no unfortunately I don't. But there wasn't exactly anything highly important on the disk that I can recall, it was mostly games. It might've had some old photos in it, im not totally sure.

I just heard some pretty nasty sounding clicking sounds from my PC, opened it up and identified it as being one of my hard drives, a 1tb sandisk SSHD to be exact. I shut the PC off and unplugged it. Any suggestions on what I should do and whether or not the hard drive is completely broken? havent heard previous clicking noises from it. I probably shouldn't plug it back into my PC and see if its recognized?

I am having a problem where my oculus sensors are working perfectly, but if I plug my t500RS wheel into the front IO of my case one of my sensors starts disconnecting and reconnecting constantly. But my sensor is plugged in to the back of the motherboard. Could this be caused by the USB controller or board cant handle so much throughput at the same time? I remember this happening once before and then a restart fixed it, but trying to troubleshoot whats causing it so I havent done that yet. ultrawides are better imo for productivity and browsing although I prefer my 4k monitor for gaming. For browsing etc a 2560x1080p will probably be enough, but you might want to go for one with a decent VA or IPS panel with atleast ok color reproduction. shouldnt be hard to find a 1080p UW for less than 300e I dont recommend 4K just because windows scaling still isnt great

For gaming, the MSI. It has a faster processor. It also more connections and it has a usb C. It also has an RGB keyboard which obviously makes the laptop much faster. (just remember to set the keyboard illumination to blue to make the laptop cooler )

Are the current fans on the radiator 3 or 4 pin fans? Where do you have them plugged in? if you have them plugged into the motherboard or a fan controller that has 4 pin PWM then go for 4 pin fans. 4 pin > 3 pin since 4 pin has its own fourth channel for speed control. They tend to be a bit less quiet because of speed fluctuations or something. I recommend getting a 4 pin unless you only have 3 pin connections on your motherboard, or you have a 3 pin fan controller you want to keep using.

Windows 10 should run faster on either one. You can always buy an SSD later and make it your boot drive though I highly recommend getting an SSD straight, the difference it makes in not just bootup speed but overall fluidity is like night and day.
