Never used allmyapps.

I usually used download.com to download a few things I was pretty sure were safe but I haven't used it in a while.

They're usually fine. Just something pops up once in a while.

That projector giveaway thread  is over half as long as this one already and it was just started on Saturday.  We really need to pick up the pace! :D

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I know this guy was trolling... But it still made me laugh.

Sad part is that there are people that would do this and be 100% serious.

I'm more concerned about the peripherals they're pairing xD

They should probably cut down on the PCIe SSDs and spend some more on a mouse.

all the peripherals, the display, speakers, etc.

But it wouldn't hurt to get some serious hardware either.  I want quad E5-2697 v2s, and 1 TB of RAM or I walk xD

Lol yeah. He should probably slow down the speed at which the tiles fall a little.... It seems like too little time to figure out where to put the pieces!

Over the past few years I've ended up being that guy that teachers would get to fix problems because I am "tech savy",  if a substute teacher had a problem,  I would think finally a break, but noo everyone in the class would point out that I could fix...  It whent so far as one teacher pulled me out of class too, wait for it... "transfer files to a external HDD fo free up space on laptop", there goes 20mins of a class near exams... In hind sight should have played dumb like rest of my friends and let "the techies" do It,  thay could fix problems 10x faster, given they are the people that implemented systems .etc

It's always funny when people know you as the tech guy. Once my doctor asked me during an appointment if I could change his default printer to the one in his office as he tried to print out a prescription for me xD

If you quote your own mistake so I don't have to go and find it, then I will figure out if it was worse than mine then I'll tell you if you can laugh of not.

Honestly, I'm not gonna go through my 1000+ posts for that, just finding your reply was a PITA ... but just for you here's a new story that happened today;

Needed a workstation for a new guy

Pulled one of the M83 SSF out of the shelves

Take 2x2GB DDR3 (don't know why this SSF had it's RAM pulled out)

Open up the SFF, install the RAM ...

*insert other random tasks I had to attend here*

I come back to the SFF, close everything, power it up to make sure it's all in order ... and nothing ... odd, usually those things beep when something is wrong!

Followed by 20 minutes of trying to figure out if the PSU is fried ... then I started taking the RAM out and that's when I found the problem!!! Somehow when the other tasks came in I left one of the stick only half-way inserted in the slot and didn't check when I came back (one of the tab wasn't "clicked"). The PC wouldn't boot and somehow the motherboard wouldn't throw any error, but thank God nothing fried! lol

so yeah, for some reason I didn't install the RAM correctly and instead of checking the FIRST logical thing (the only thing I touched was the RAM), I start troubleshooting the PSU!

DERP

xD
