Nothing too extravagant, a USB-C to MiniDisplayPort adapter, but it is in order to use a nice 'freebie' I got. A family member upgraded to a new M2 Pro Mac mini, but their old Cinema Display was "incompatible", per the Apple Store employee. Well, it's true that Apple doesn't sell the correct adapter, but they do sell a shiny new Studio Display for $1600, so my relative ended up with one of those...

So I ended up with a 27" 1440P Cinema Display, all I needed was this adapter to use it with my recently-purchased Mac Studio. Not only does the adapter work, but the current version of MacOS Ventura recognizes the monitor and even applies the colorspace correctly, so it's a shame Apple won't sell the correct adapter, because their OS knows the display. Even though it's a much lower resolution than their current desktop displays, this monitor meshes really well with the OS and gives plenty of desktop space.

Got a new chalk bag so I can do easy A/B testing of various chalks. I have another Arc’teryx chalk bag which is going strong for years so I decided to go with the same brand.

Hey you didn't order the US layout like i did by mistake. What switches did you choose and are you happy with the keyboard? To me the red switches almost felt too linear to the point where typing felt "dead" and with no feedback at all.

If someone did not use reason to reach their conclusion in the first place, you cannot use reason to convince them otherwise.

Looks like nordic layout. Made me search for an identical one, but those cost 140+€ here (at least nordic). Very cool aesthetics though.

All the coolest keyboards here are with US layout that are more affordable...

It's a german layout, easily recognizable by the presence of Ö, Ä and Ü. It's a bit strange, as Keychron offers the V6 for $99 including shipping from China, but from local retailers the same keyboard costs 119€ + shipping. And the wrong one i ordered by mistake would've cost at least 20€ to ship it back to China for a refund.

I tried to sell it, but to no surprise US layout keyboards aren't in high demant in Germany...

I got the red switches and I love them. I mostly game on this keyboard, so it is fine. But yeah, super soft.

It is on sale at candykeys atm, so grab one and sell your US version if you want. 😉

MX Mechanical Mini and Glorious Model O W.

IMG_1150.thumb.jpg.6853de81774c94eb12995710882ede08.jpg

I just got these 10 days or so ago. I am a big fan of both but I gotta say US layout sucks when you use a keyboard in another locale. I was debating about getting another trackball mouse for my own PC but I decided to get Glorious Model O W instead and I gotta this thing is great (software has been pretty troublesome from start just so you know).

Battery of the mice lasts me 4-5 days at leds at 20%, I also use the brightness of the keyboard at second setting (there are 8 settings in total). Brightness of both devices are maxed out in the picture. Mousepad is also new, I go through more mousepads than most people here lol.

It is the German layout. Good old ISO-DE and I added that info to the post now 😉

I bought my K6 for 67€ and the V1 for 84€.
Both ISO-DE, but if you go bargain hunting it is possible. K6 was from Alternate open-box and V1 from Candykeys on sale.

US layouts do have the advantage of having better availability for keycaps down the line though!

Having an easier time finding new keycaps won't do me much good if it fails at being a keyboard 😄

I tried to use it anyway but using the ANSI US layout was just tedious when writing in German.

The mouse I'd been using forever (Logitech M325) died a little while back, so I got a Logitech M720 Triathlon. I like that it has horizontal scroll, infinite scrolling, an ergonomic-ish grip, and bluetooth (since mice using receivers sometimes don't work when I have my laptop connected to a monitor and keyboard - maybe an interference issue?). I wonder if something flatter and longer would be more comfortable, but still the best mouse I've had by far (though maybe that's not saying much).

IMG_2415.thumb.jpg.cf472ab796ea3815795fb23aa9e1f6ba.jpg

I also got a monitor. ASUS VA24EQSB. It's good for what I need, though now I've gone from thinking 22 in is huge to kind of wanting something bigger than this 24 in...

Didn't buy it personally, but got if for work after my old keyboard broke down:

image.thumb.jpeg.cc490a18c58bf77594fef5074f1b6227.jpeg

The mouse is "meh". Mostly due to low polling rate. I'm used to 1000Hz at home. This one is unspecified, but feels a lot lower.

The keyboard is excellent. It's so low profile that a wrist rest isn't needed at only 15 - 25 mm total height. (15 if i don't use the feet at the back) The scissor switches feel better than any mechanical keyboard i've had in the last 5 years.

For some random office equipment i didn't expect much of, I was very pleasantly surprised by the keyboard.
