I picked up some goodies from my mail service today.

First, a box set of 21 CDs of work by Pietro Antonio Locatelli.

IMG_0488.thumb.JPG.f14c95e4ee72486899cf58fb1c68df47.JPG

I'm going to have my work cut out for me ripping the CDs, tagging the files, and scanning all the covers and the booklet!

I bought a Startech powered USB 3.0 hub that fried one of the two USB 3.0 ports on my notebook (mutter, mutter, mumble, mumble; It's going to be a cold day in Hell before I buy anything else of theirs!). Since I needed both of those ports, I got another hub to "fix" the problem.

This is where the two usb ports are. I have the fried one blocked off with a dust cover that has the handle cut off.

IMG_0006.thumb.JPG.7214ad1c84846aa87f485f0a45f0c0df.JPG

This is the hub installed.

IMG_0005.thumb.JPG.87ebddb103ba3fab8737fa493ed4ea20.JPG

When I need the HDMI port, I can just swing it up out of the way.

Rant alert! I hit four different different grocery stores today and all were out of TP (*&^%$#@! hoarders!) I had to stop at Wally world to pick up my prescriptions and checked to see if they had any TP. I got on the tail end of a run on a new shipment (and they were being rationed!). By the time I got there, all that was left was some of the cheapest, sorriest looking TP I ever saw (and I was darned glad to get it). What was really sad was they had to have a cop there to avoid a riot (we chatted while I waited for my turn). Just when my opinion of the general public couldn't get lower, it plummeted even further. 🙄 It was appalling how empty the grocery stores were.

Rant over. You are now being returned to your (my?) regularly scheduled (?) post. Here is what one package of that wonderful TP looked like (they were allowing people to get four packages).

IMG_0002.thumb.JPG.0f5aa37a6f92863e9a3ad9ba14837af0.JPG

Each package is the equivalent of one roll of the stuff I usually get.

Jeannie

Main speaker setup is now;

Mini DSP SHD Studio -> 2x Mola Mola Tambaqui DAC's (fed by AES/EBU, one feeds the left sub and main, the other feeds the right side) -> 2x Neumann KH420 + 2x Neumann KH870

(Having a totally seperate DAC for each channel is game changing for sound quality)

I didn't buy these, they were gifts from my brother who'd somehow gotten them.....the pack of 50 masks was brand new, I'd opened it to see what the masks actually looked like. Some N95 masks too....

HP EliteDesk 800 G1 - i5 4590T - 8GB RAM

I got it for $100 off eBay. It was in perfect order inside and out. It didn’t come with any storage but I already had that well covered. It came with a Win 8 license that I used for my Win 10 installation. It’s working out great for NAS (16 TB), Plex, backups, and other network related tasks.

Rode NTG5 shotgun mic.  I have it mounted on their included shock mount, which threads nicely into the head of my older Manfrotto tripod that I'm not using much anymore.
