You realize that, if you try using more than that one port at a time at the full 5Gbps of USB 3.0, you will not get full speed on any ports? All seven of those ports share the same 5Gbps.

Not tech related, but my attempt at satisfying my OCD has failed.

 

My Proto Impact sockets go from 10mm to 24mm, and I bought the Westling Machine socket trays to organize them, but of course the trays go from 9mm to 27mm, so I had extra unpopulated pins. So like any crazy person, I ordered 9mm, and 25-27mm Proto Impact sockets in both shallow and deep just to fill the tray, but of course, the 9mm shallow is on back order, so for the next few weeks it's still going to drive me nuts.

Ha yea it’s quite a bit and I used to think $60 OtterBox Defender cases were a bit pricey.

 

But for something that I use all day and always have with me, it’s a worthwhile investment.

I bought AirPods Gen 2, non-wireless charging, because I didn't feel a $70 premium for Wireless charging was worth it, when I haven't bothered to invest in a wireless charger yet.

I just got this today.

A battery powered soldering iron. 

It uses 4 AA batteries, and claims to last to up to 2 hours.

I'm wiring up some 12v computer fans for cooling my mom's greenhouse for the summer (powered by a 12v deep cycle vehicle battery), I can't really bring my soldering station outside so that's why I got the battery powered soldering iron. 

 

That's a latching power button (that I also got today) so all that she needs to do is push it to turn the fans on/off.

 

I'm going to 3D print a holder and mount for the button today. 

 

Here is some temperature charts for alkaline and NI-MH batteries.

NOICE! I get JLC Reverso vibes from the design. It's a true dress watch. Even the most obnoxious watch snob elites would approve this one. Bulova is a true Americana watch brand with some innovations. It's criminally underrated, but that's a good thing. It's good to know that you can still get a bargain. Gahhh! Why do I know all this!? I don't even like wearing a watch! But watch YouTubers are so damn charming and nerdy.

Best part is, unlike a $5000 Reverso or Cartier Tank, this was $75. TheUrbanGentry made a video about one of these bulovas he got for $170, so I decided to look and found this! not in as great condition, but still pretty nice, and keeps good time.
