Had this old scan of a Big Idea catalog from one of my VeggieTales tapes laying around (I think it came from a copy of The Toy that Saved Christmas) and it's Christmas-ey, so it's good enough for the next month or so to use for a desktop background.

i like my desktop clean, no icons

1) i don't get to see the desktop right when i run any softwares, so having icon there wouldnt be easily accessible anyways

2) i like the clean look when i startup my PC

left: 1080p

right: 1440p

 

taskbar is hidden because more viewport = better

if i need to launch a new application, i press window key while my cursor move to taskbar, no waiting needed

to switch between applications, i alt tab, and i memorise which application is which order, and occasionally shuffle it to the right order after some alt tabbing

From somebody that 99% of the time uses their computer as nothing more than a web browser, I haven't noticed a difference from Catalina. The new design style is good, but needs a lot of refinement that I am not sure it will get. I can't speak on performance since I'm using a 6 core i7 to run chrome and zoom, but I haven't noticed any difference at all. Overall I think it's a step in the right direction and a good precursor to what's coming next. Stability has been so-so compared to my previous mac experiences, which is still amazing compared to windows. I've owned this mac since January or March IDK which, and I have only ever experienced one single OS hang up of any sort, which was on the day I installed big sur. Since then and before then no issues at all. I'm excited for the next generation of the M series macs, and might end up buying a macbook air with a second gen chip whenever that's a thing when (hopefully) I would then be a full time college student doing in person classes. Just something smaller than my 15 inch to carry, I don't envision my 15 inch going anywhere any time soon unless the KB fails and they elect to give me a 16 inch instead of fixing it.

I completely agree, I can't stand a cluttered desktop. This is not Windows 3.1 after all.

lol I am definitely a "single core cpu" when it comes to how I use my computers. Almost always one thing at a time, total neat freak. House is the same way, totally obsessed with keeping it clean and tidy
