Why Linus still has good things to say about Apple products

rombille

Why does Linus still bring out Apple products when they tried to screw him on his Mac book Pro computer and would not fix his Display. Anyone who watches Louis Rossman videos knows that Apple screws their customers by a. overpricing reapairs b. telling you they can't fix it and wanting you to buy new overpriced products. c. outright lying about your choices on repairs. Old technology that is insanely expansive for no reason. The old Apple was a leader in innovation. now they just reuse old technology. And everything has to be done the Apple way. You pay for something, you should be able to use it anyway you want too. Try loading music or files on to a iphone. You need a course on how to do this. my opinion its overpriced junk.

They are a review channel. It's the same reason a news channel would still focus on bad news, it's their job to cover it. Apple being one of the largest tech corporations they can't afford to not review Apple stuff.

That being said, I would still say them - as reviewers - should cover each product with fairness and thus not drag personal bias into it.

Although it's not like they are buying all the Apple products outright, like them planning to return the Mac Pro after reviewing it (as stated on numerous occasions).

Not trying to be rude, but it doesn't matter what you or other "techies" think about Apple and their products.

Apple is a successful business because they make excellent products that people actually buy. End of story. It doesn't matter if some people think that their customer service is bad and therefore Apple is a piece of shit.

LTT reviews a wide range of products, and it's important that their reviews are fair. I'm surprised at how triggered people like you get if they make one good (and honest) review on an Apple product.

"a bit more" for normal people or the rich? Their customers are businesses mostly, our "a bit more" dont apply the same way to them

So are you actually asking why Linus does his job and gives fair evaluation of products disregarding his bias? Or why he even tries with Apple when those videos are most watched on the channel?

Seems to me that you have some issues with Apple, and I have very easy solution. Stop watching Apple related videos.

Or rather you're not getting my point? Apple products is like a premium thing, I hope no one buys them for sheer performance only for the most out of their money. Seriously there are many who just likes Apple's idea of a warranty, in which they just send you a new one when your old one stops working.

No, you really don't get what I was saying. Nothing wrong with paying more for a 1st party repair, there is something wrong with said 1st party replacing displays and logic boards when it's a ribbon cable that's failed. This is new engine when you have a cracked sparkplug kind of deception.

Refresh the page for my updated past reply. They just want to sell their warranty plans which tbh, is what you should get when you buy from Apple. Otherwise they just aren't for you.

I hate Apple as much as the next guy, but even I'll admit when they have something decent.

I like the iPhone and iPad. I will personally be using an iPad (probably the Pro) for when I start ground instruction classes as a student pilot. I'd also be using it for leisure as well. I don't like smart phones, but if I had to have one, it would most likely be an iPhone (or a Pixel).

Why? Because I actually enjoy their mobile experience. I love the capabilities with Android, but I personally prefer a simplistic experience when "on the go".

I have to agree with if you don't like the Apple related videos, don't watch them. I hardly watch LTT videos anymore, and a lot of them are sponsored "showcase" videos which are pointless IMO if you're looking for an unbiased review.

As for why LTT does Apple videos, because it gets them a ton of views from people that aren't techies who buy Apple products, LTT being a very popular channel it benefits them to do videos on Apple products.

Rossmann has strong bias against Apple. he only sees broken machines among tens and millions of perfectly fine machines.

And what old technology are you referring to? If you're going to bring up some paper specs, forget it, it doesn't matter as long as the experiance is good (like iPhone's 3GB RAM vs Android's 8 or 12GB these days). You can load files onto iPhone FYI via files app, and media via apps like Infuse.

The fact of the matter is, they make great products more often than not and they have a perfectly satisfied and appreciating customer base.

It's no different if you only watch positive reviews from people getting free samples from Apple, of course you're going have a positive opinion for them.

Rossmann isn't the only independent tech in the repair industry, but people biased towards Apple love to single him out and discredit him all the time, if the machines were perfect as some reviewers insist there wouldn't be any point in running a business specializing in Apple device repair.

And that still doesn't change the fact you need an app to do something as simple as drop a file to or from your phone, or you're getting less hardware for the money.

Like being convinced into paying up for a warranty, then 1st party repair claims it's water damaged, or data can't be recovered yet third party services can recover your pictures or files. I agree deceptively getting customers to buy a warranty that doesn't cover accidents should be illegal.
