I'm gonna try to breach top 10 but with about 2.8M estimated average PPD, competition is a lot stiffer this year and I doubt I'll be able to do it, considering a lot of the averages are still warming up.

One day, one day  Hopefully next year (FYI Canada Computers has a 1070 for $600, if you are near one of the 5 stores that has it for Canadians who want extra points for cheap)

Pascal clock steps are in 13MHz increments and Turing in 15MHz increments so you might have to go a little lower depending on the card.

also bear in mind that PPD fluctuates quite a lot based on a whole bunch of factors including system load. a WU for me can say anything from 3.2 to 3.6mppd and will fluctuate around those numbers while it's completing

Those fluctuations are due to three things principally. 1) Ocassionally there will be a dual-precision calculation required in some WUs and those cores are fewer, 2) the WU has to go back to the CPU occasionally to do some calculations and 3) the periodic checksumming to save the WU state in case the system crashes so you don't lose all the work done done to that point in time.

 

And, the FAHControl application does not do the best job calculating the estimated of PPD. HFM.net does a much better job IMHO and has some knobs you can tweak to change the way it does that also.

Ok my vega crashed and hang during night. However windows kvm display was working fine, i can do everything in kvm. However can't fah, had to to hard reset host.

That moment of panic when you hit refresh at EoC and see a bad PPD over the last 24-hours then realize you hit it too soon and they are still "Processing" and haven't yet added your last 3 hours.

dropped to 150mhz from 165mhz still running at 2010mhz I assume due to thermal headroom

On another positive note I think I'll be able to get access to F@H for the servers at work so I might be able to throw back in my collection of stupid over powered CPU folders again, but now with more and upgraded E5-2690v4 CPUs. Want to crack 10m PPD pure CPU

How many of those CPUs do you have if you can get 10m PPD with them?
