LTT Official Folding Month 2019!!!

Go to solution Solved by GOTSpectrum,

Alright guys, the time for locking this thread has come, can you all please use the Folding Community Board for all further talk.

Thank you all again for participating in the event.

Once the sheet is cleaned up I will edit this post to add the link to the spreadsheet.

@TVwazhere Can you please lock this thread for me.

Still, I really want to know how are you pulling that out... If you way you have only 1 GPU(1080Ti), where do the rest of the points come from? It just cannot be from those 5 CPU's alone...

I wish I could tell you. I'm just running everything as cool as possible in the basement. I am also probably living a little far north of you if my outside temp is 46F as of this post.

Yeah, but still... It is impossible to have such a PPD avg with only 1 GPU even if it is 1080 Ti, you have to have some other GPU's as well...

Whoops, I missed this post. My setup is kinda all over the place. I'm just using hardware I have laying around. It's a few different systems that I threw together out of spare parts to fold. I'm only using the GPUs to fold though, the CPU ppd isn't worth the power draw to me.

System 1: Titan V, i7-7700k

System 2: Titan RTX, i7-8700(non-k)

System 3: Titan X, Ryzen 5 1600

System 4: 2x Titan Z, i7-6700k

System 5: 1060 6gb, i3-3250

System 6: Quadro P2000, i5-8400

I could probably throw together a couple more systems or optimize what I have, but I haven't felt like putting in the effort for another 1-2m ppd.

Insane setup. How much did that cost? ??

give it some time - it will work out a proper PPD average once it's had a while to process it some. the 5 days is normal when it's "training" a new WU

yah after 20 mins it is still 834

Now that Catwalks put out what he has, I'll post what I have soon. Trust me, it's not nearly as impressive, I'ts almost embarrassing compared to Catawalks.

Whatever you got is good if you are using it to fold. ?

Way too much. I didn't buy any of it new, but I don't like thinking about the total. That money probably could have been better spent tbh.

I do, and it's a long story to tell you where I am with my hardware. I just wish I would have heard of LTT and Gamers Nexus before I started buying hardware. But to be fair, I am also running an lintel duo core with cheap graphics card for this folding event.

Yeah. Reboots solved it for me, but the problem that made be nuke the OS was Boinc keeping the OS from rebooting, then refusing to uninstall lol. I started to troubleshoot it, but was like eh.. takes 5 mins to wipe the OS.

Ah OK, I'm running WCG on my CPUs and didn't have that problem but maybe it's a Windows thing.

Also, I'd like to know what you guys(@catawalks, @Cbwgoose, @miker07, @GOTSpectrum, @Den-Fi, @Gorgon) are using(full setups: GPU/Mobo/CPU).

3900X + Asus X570 Pro Ace + 2x 2080

2700X + C7H + 2x 2080 Ti

1950X + ARock X399M + 2080 Ti

2950X + Zenith Extreme + 2080 Ti

4930K + Asus X79 Deluxe + 2x 1080 Ti Hybrid

I don't fold on any of the CPUs since it's enough trying to cool all the GPUs.

Esp today when it's 91F outside.

I mean, it is possible to have the folding return wrong value through a fake calculation, and still count as complete WU right?

Quick check around systems, found one stuck idle. Tried exit and starting again, it just said "updating" and did nothing. Reboot, instantly running again. Hope I don't have to babysit them all through the month...

Anyway, currently running:

1080Ti

1070

1650

2070 part time cos gaming (running approx 18/24h)

Could add:

1060 3GB (need to move it out of my HEDT system first but will run shortly)

1030 (too slow?)

980Ti

970

750Ti

Vega 56

RX 580 (x3)

R9 280X (too old?)

Presuming the 1060 would be comparable performance-per-watt as other Pascal cards, and I will add it shortly. I'm not sure about Maxwell these days. How does the AMD cards fit in?

Main system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, Corsair Vengeance Pro 3200 3x 16GB 2R, RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Gaming laptop: Lenovo Legion 5, 5800H, RTX 3070, Kingston DDR4 3200C22 2x16GB 2Rx8, Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB + Crucial P1 1TB SSD, 165 Hz IPS 1080p G-Sync Compatible

I wonder all the time why/how you crazy guys have so many GPUs laying around.

In my case: boring job that pays enough I blow it on stuff I don't need. Currently it is PC parts although I'm reaching mild burn out. It also doesn't help I'm really lazy and never get around to selling old stuff when I don't use it any more. Keep debating getting a 2080Ti but I stop myself as I don't need it for anything I currently do.

Pretty much the same here. I've just been slowly working on collecting all the Titan cards and decided to use them all for the folding month.

I used to do this too, but with all the eBay fees and effort for local sales I've sort of given up selling old stuff. I really should dump some of this stuff, maybe one day.

I used to facebook pet stuff from past interests and dealing with people just sucks. With PC parts there's additional risk with shipping if not done locally. All considered, too much pain for too little return.

The stuff I did sell I kinda wish I hadn't now. Some of it could be quite retro-collectable had I kept it.

I know what you mean ive had issues with selling stuff on ebay with buyers putting claims in.  If i do sell it on ebay i always wait for the £1 insertion offers
