The GUI of Windows 11 looks like if Windows 10, MacOS, and Ubuntu had a threesome.  The combo is off-putting...

      MS:
"Windows 11 now has full macOS and Linux support, complete with respective terminals, file management schemes, and anything you could dream of!

Problem is that it's Windows 11 BSoDs in the background, error code LINUX_SUPPORT_FAILURE a bit glitchy, and we don't know how to fix it..."

  3. Hypothetically, would KDE or XFCE be best for a Windows 10-like experience using Manjaro?

  10. Oh wow, apparently Edge has overtaken Firefox in web browser usage.

I get a sinking feeling Firefox won't be around in a couple of years..

Eh, if anything it's eating into Chrome's user base imo. Also, it comes pre-installed with Windows and its apparently pretty alright so it makes sense that the number is higher.

Still, I doubt that Firefox is going anywhere.

Not really surprised. A chunk of Firefox comes from the Linux base where Edge has been slowly gaining in popularity since it's Linux Dev Build release.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. Mozilla has spoken a few times about how Chrome/Chromium has largely taken over the browser market allowing them to pretty much set new standards if they want. One of Mozilla's worries is they wont be able to keep up with Google leading to the eventual death of Firefox. If user-share drops far enough, they may just opt out of the browser market early, though I am sure a Fork would live on in some form.

  13. So as the title says, my 1080 is showing flickering/flashing screen when opening up new programs or windows. An example would be when playing a video it'll sometimes show other content flashing infront of it; or when scrolling down it'll bounce around before finally showing more of the page. This all started a few days ago when updating windows from build 1909 to 20H2. I tried re-installing everything related to the card, from geforce experience to the driver, nvidia control panel, etc. I was just wondering if there was a fix software wise I could do, or is this a hardware rela

      You have two choices:

Buy an RTX 3060 for $1000

      -OR-

Pay $1800 or less for a full fledged computer with a good CPU and a GPU that beats it.

  15. Why do Italian restaurants still exist?  I can go to Publix and get a whole Lasagna for like $15 and it'll last me days.  Why should I spend the same amount for one piece at Olive Garden?

Chains will always be terrible value. Small shops tend to do better than Publix unless you're looking for a dish that is always exactly the same.

Italian restaurants thrive on the appearance of being fancy while not being expensive, like a used Mercedes C240 Kompressor from 2004.
