Anybody speak foreign languages here?

Wouldn't that just be "Sum Grootus"?
Isn't the "ego" understood?

The ego is understood, however IIRC adding it puts more stress on it.

Also I thought of Groot as 3rd Declension ("Groot","Grootis") rather than second ("Grootus", "Grooti")

Dont quote me on this.

Actually, it's not. Sign language is just a set of hand symbols for the respective language.

What I meant was that you still have to learn all of those symbols as it's a completely different way of communicating and there are some grammar differences.

My main language is English, but I do speak some Welsh and Spanish (taught in school but I never pay attention in the lessons).

I used to speak a bit of Afrikaans (have some south african family) but I've completely forgotten it.

I speak English (native), and Spanish.

I'm in the process of learning German.  I work for a German company so I thought it'd be useful one day.

German

A German Dialect we call "PLattdeutsch"

And obviously a bit english.

In school I had french for 2 years or so but forgot all of it. Didn't like the language and didn't have a reason for it...

Danish would have made more sense...

Platduetsch sounds to me much closer to Afrikaans than German. Most Afrikaans people understand Platduetsch better than German, and reading the other language is easy for everyone.

I speak English and Afrikaans, and then I can speak German, but more functionally than being able to have complex political debates or something of that sort. Looking to learn Spanish once I fix my German

That's an F in the profile pic

I speak English, some Latin(and can grasp others like Spanish due to that), some Russian, a few words in Hindi, and a bit of Korean.

Yes, its not really a German Dialect and more of its own language. It has some similaritys but other people are also saying that its more in the "Friesian" category - same as Dutch (wich IIRC is the Basis of Afrikaans).

Because of that you can say that its not really German but something else...

A speak English, the lingua franca. I speak a tiny tiny tiny bit of Spanish since I take Spanish in my high school. My dialect falls under "teenager" and "reddit user"

Thats cool! I'm 50% korean, I'd like to learn it but there's probably not much use for me to, unless my family decides to take my mom back to Korea for the first time.

I learned a fair bit when I was a kid, most of it was forgotten(especially writing and reading), but I can still speak some.

English is my second language, after Dutch. I know some words French and German, but not nearly enough to even read an article or something.
