PPD estimate is 3.3M when all cards fold. Yesterday I earned 1.1M points. I'll honestly be happy with wherever I land in the folding event, as I know I have less control over my total PPD than I usually do.

i don't know who needs to read this, but here is some hot info for you boys.

i set the next-unit-percentage flag to 90, and i've been getting back to back WU's on my 2080. 6 in a row now!

i'll set this on the 2080Ti aswell and see if it improves!

can someone help me out here? i've been trying to connect to my server for a couple days now, following @Gorgon's guide.

i can get it to connect no problem, but somehow after connecting it just keeps getting stuck on 'updating'.

what's going on?

Have you restarted client and F@H app on server after configuring it?

Can you telnet to port 36330 using PuTTY to the server you want to monitor from the system you want to monitor from?

 

Can you post the config of the server?

those are a lot of words i don't fully understand

 

the server is a self-build dual E5 Xeon box running windows server 2012

Make sure the server is reachable, and has port 36330 open in firewalls and/or port forwarding as needed.  Then the client should be able to connect to it remotely.

that's the problem tough, it connects just fine, but it fails to update the client info.

when i connect to it it even shows 'online' in my host PC. it just hangs on updating indefinitely

The config.xml for folding at home; specifically the lines dealing with remote access:

I'm not sure what others are experiencing, but my WU situation has deteriorated over the last 24 hrs or so, after 2-3 days of reasonably consistent supply. Could it be AWS sucking up all the new supply of WU's?

I've had 4 systems going with 12 slots.  I only got a few WUs overnight and this morning.  I think it is time for me to throw in the towel and just go to the spare slots on the usual server.  I'm just pushing lots of wattage to do nothing at this point, like I have been most of the event, and am so far out of point possibility that even if the contest was the driving factor, I couldn't compete anyway now even if instant WUs were a thing.

Yeah I think those who can sit next to their gear all day, pausing/re-starting slots and re-starting the client etc... will do the best. That seems to be the best strategy right now. Having said that, it's bloody wonderful that the project is getting so much attention and fire power.

I play halo CE and see maybe 15% drop at most on my 1080

dunno, really, after i finish a game of CS:GO and check the f@H client the points are around 500k from the usual 1.5m

 

probably not accurate but not sure how else to check the impact

what framerate though? You set it to 60 and I can't see CSGO being that hard on the GPU, you did pause the CPU though right? You will be starving the slot most likely with only a 7700k
