both of my cards got wus and my 5700xt finished his and got no desert but my nvidia went back and to 2nds THE NERV of it lol

Holy hell. After battling my 2080Ti all day I finally got F@H to see it. Last resort was to wipe the OS and start all over.

well now my Nvidia is hungry and my AMD is eating so lol i think they are trying to make sure every one gets a peice...if this continues tomorrow i will put my 5700xt on to GPUGRID on Boinc.

well at least you got it working bender had to get reinstlled after i pulled the amd card it got ticked off...

It's working. Just not right and I am going to have a hell of a time reinstalling. SOO many things to reinstall and I always end up forgetting something.

Make the mother of all lists dude.  Every time I figure I have to do that i make a list of stuff I need via the control panel uninstall menu.

yeah luckily my main 2 computers my XPS and my gaming rig dont reinstall often the others are very basic and less than 1 hr back to normal time for them. save my 2 other laptops are 2hr back to normal as i load office 365 and steam and the 7375 is a GASP Sata ssd...so last decade lol...

About the only reason to run NVME is if you need burst speed or don't have a M.2 slot that does SATA and can eat the added cost.  Until they get the wattage cost of those drives down to something reasonable they're not much use at that size and speed with the thermal throttle the incur minus a large heat sink. Lucky your reinstall doesn't take long too. Mine only takes so long because of all the minor details to reinstall and sort out afterwards to personalize it (up to 1-2 weeks to find them all).  a fresh non-personalized PC takes maybe 90 minutes from an updated ISO to all software installed on SATA these days.  Real nice.

well my thing is i have upgraded a lot of laptops and desktops for people so i HAD alot of NVME laying around.  but seems that the prices have dropped so much on them friends are ordering laptops with the NVME size that they want.  i only have a 512 GB Toshiba Cacheless 30 mm m.2 that came in my Inspiron 14" that i aint selling as it works good as a spare for testing...and wont work in any of my desktops due to no mounts. thats how i have the 4 sata ssds in my gaming rig all used but where still current gen-ish lol

 

as for cost that is why i went with intel 660p at $100 per TB yes QLC but haven't noticed it yet

same with the P1 it was onsale foe $5 less than the 660p.

the only 2 i over spent on where the samsung ones...i had them set as R0 at one point but a BIOS update bricked the R0 so i now run them seperate one has my entire steam library on it the other is the OS Drive and the sata R0 is for well the heck of it it likely wont move to new chassis as i dont use it i use the storage on my server for most of my storage needs and the 1GBPS to my computer is enough for that stuff.

NVME really isn't any more expensive than sata at this point.

I personally have picked up both 512 and a few 1TB Crucial P1's for less than a buck/10 gig.

 

Unless you're talking about spinning rust.  In which case…just say no.

EVERYTHING is so much faster off of NVME vs spinning SATA, not just installs and load times.  But, to put it in perspective…with the Crucial P1 and my low end AMD APU, my Ubuntu linux install took less than 2 minutes, with all optional programs selected (I was playing with it to test things when I got it).

The fourth day of isolation...fourth day of Folding, I started with 1 there had to be another! I originally had my EVGA RTX 2070 (TU106) and I7 9700K running and made about 600k points in 2-3 days. I'm at 1.25Million now at 4 days with 2 pcs.

Secondary pc is running a Radeon RX 570 and an AMD Ryzen 7 2700X...I thought it was madness at first...my CPUID program registered all 8 core clocks at ~6.2MHz....nonsense, I wake up in the night last night to check and the core clocks registered at ~7.6MHz...and as I speak the core clocks are hitting 5.0MHz...I am currently recording the process and the only programs running are Folding@Home, CPUID, OBS, and Firefox...Either I bought an OP 2700X or this thing is miss binned o_o.
Let the fight against COVID and all viruses/diseases continue!

Seeing as how the NHS has me under house arrest for at least 12 weeks I have nothing better to do than babysit F@H.  That big jump in points is due to the new system I put togeather on Saturday. I will be shuting down the new system in a couple of hours so I can do some cable management, when I put it togeather I just plugged everything in and fired it up to see if everything was working and never got around to shutting it down, I've got wires everywhere. It will give me something to do for a hour or so.

I've quite a few projects i have planned, case modding my main pc for a front mounted fan, (full metal with a glass cover on front full tower case). Cable management in my project build and my parents pc.

HWinfo missreading and reporting false speed. Nothing new, happens from time to time .

 

Be sure that that CPU cannot clock nowhere near that high. Der8auer got it to 6GHz with LN2 and I bet my car that you ain't using LN2 nor are you setting any new world records.

Ya the voltages are not going 1.5 at, only on the "7.6MHz" screenshot and 12W per core. Still fun to see lmao
Also no LN2, stock cooler with 1 case fan and a small room fan blowing air at the front of the case until I get more Noctua fans. Temps were reaching 93C.
