I don't trust any of those repair man for the life of me. How do you know if he didn't replace your good GPU for a real burned one. You never leave your PC with those guys, ever. You can always just bring the parts in suspect individually, but don't bring your entire PC.

If you registered your GPU, go online to see the SKU number to see if it matches the one in your PC that you registered.

I changed a couple of things around. https://pcpartpicker.com/list/YmWjdD
I don't see why you're using a 1070 as placer until GPU drop because there's no definitely that'll drop. Even if it did drop back down to MSRP, how much are you still losing/gaining using the 1070 as placeholder? Lets say you were able to re-sell that 1070 for a small profit and 3070 drops back down to $800. You're still spending roughly $1,000 if you bought it at $800 and resold the 1070 for $200. I listed the 3070 TI instead of the 3070 as it's roughly $1,200 which is roughly same price the 3070 is selling for atm.

I changed the ram for a Ballistix as they are also 3600 and 16, but cheaper than the one you currently have. I also know they are dual rank, as for the ram you have, I don't know if it's dual rank or single rank. I replaced the cooler for a better cooler as AMD Ryzen chip runs hot. Especially if you're rendering and going to make sure of the cores, wouldn't want to skip out on that. I replaced your Asus motherboard for a lower quality and cheaper Gigabyte B550. It has the same features, and motherboard doesn't last. Buying a more expensive one for 'gaming' preference is just not worth it if a cheaper value can do the same job for cheaper and can be easily replaced in 3-4 years.

The value comes out to about $2,517 USD

c00face got a reaction from WintorialsLift in Cryptocurrency isn't the main culprit for inflated prices
Probably unpopular opinion, but here it goes. Crypto isn't the reason for rises in GPU prices nor was it for 2017. I'm tired of hearing this argument and it's just a pure lack of understanding of what really is going on. The problem is in fact supply, but the supply isn't "being bought out" by miners. It's being controlled by the company itself. This is just business malpractice and there isn't really nothing we can do about it. Yes, yes, chip shortages, stimulus checks, etc... I understand that it's all being bought out and demand can't keep up with supply. But the main problem has always been the controlled supply. Rather it be AMD or Nvidia or Ford or any other company that is using this malpractice to gain riches... they are in-fact limiting the supply of these hardwares for this very purpose to inflate prices for more $.

Porsche has been doing this for years to keep their vehicle inflated and as we move forward, most car companies have figured out the formula to make more money while making less cars and forcing consumers to purchase vehicles at a higher value than what the car is worth. Yes, Nvidia, Ford, GMC, Toyota, etc... all have seen massive spikes in revenues (I'm talking billions of dollars) from last year alone due to supply and is on track for the same revenue this year 2021. What makes you think they want to stop this trend? Even if mining stop and used GPU hit the market again, it won't solve the real problem and these prices will continue throughout 2021 to 2022. And if I was to make a bet, I'll say it'll continue through 2023 because there's literally NO incentives for these companies to stop controlling the supply to make more money while producing less, it's a wet dream for them.

I'm sure there's ton of people who will disagree and like to blame it on miners... but reality is... no. Mark my words, even if mining ends, these GPU prices won't go away nor will these inflated car prices. Companies have figured out a way to suck your money out of your pocket by controlling supply and they'll continue this trend going forward. And don't even bring up chip shortages, that's a joke. If these companies wanted, they can find ways to stock pile on these chips in the coming months, but why would they? What better way to tell consumer, "There's a chip storage, that's why prices are like this." Don't get me wrong, there was a chip shortage back in 2020, but what I'm saying is... It shouldn't last long and we should start seeing these chip shortages go away, but it will NOT because these companies have no incentives to stop it or start finding ways to get these chips. Look at AMD, they're doing the exact same thing with the new releases coming out for the 6000 series GPU. Nvidia saw this trend and released the 3080 TI for a stupidly high price because they are controlling the supply count of their GPU and create demand for it purposely. There's really no way to stop it.

I also would check to see if you still have warranty on those ram sticks. When buying ram in bundles, they usually come factory sync and with less problems. Because these memory sticks are brand new and already have syncing issues with non-corrective advertising speed, I would definitely either return it for a refund or get news because they are practically of no use together.
Eventually, overtime, some memory stick at adjusted speed will start to sync at its advertised speed, but you don't want to chance that. Get new ones/refund.

    List all your PC components.
You'll need another GPU to test if it's GPU related. Remove the RX 580, and run another stable GPU that you trust to see if the problem still persists.
If you have two ram sticks, remove one, and run the PC on one ram sticks and see if the problem persists.

Ram are not in sync. Did you purchase together in a bundle or separately? Was it used before you purchased it?

Either or, the ram isn't syncing properly. You'll have to go into BIOS, and instead of default to try to sync the ram automatically, you'll need to adjust it manually to a lower speed until they sync and run properly. Do not try to sync the ram at a higher speed, it cause more problems.

Lets take it a step at a time. If there's a way to test if it's the monitor, please do so. Use a different monitor with different cable to connect to the GPU to see if it is in-fact the monitor and not an issue with the PC/GPU itself.

After confirming it isn't or is the monitor, go to your power settings and turn on, "performance settings" and not balanced to make sure your GPU is drawing enough power to play the games.

After doing this, and you confirm it isn't the power or monitor, I need you to swap your HDMI cable for a DVI cable to make sure it isn't HDMI related port issues.

All my years of trouble shooting, it's usually some sort of PCI-e update that isn't automatically installed and you'll have to do it yourself to make sure the GPU is working properly. I usually use a third party program to scan for out-dated drivers and drivers that aren't showing like PCI-e.

Make sure to observe everything and take note on what happens. If none worked, come back here and post what you observed and we'll go from there.

If we can sit here and discuss the probable existence of aliens in our universe, but can't have a logical talk about the probable existence of God himself... Not sure what to say. Quick to believe aliens exist, but quick to deny Jesus exist and the creation of.

Light speed, time, gravity... We are governed by these laws. If we want to talk about time travel and moving faster than light speed then we first must LIVE OUTSIDE of those laws/boundaries. To live outside of those boundaries and laws we first must leave our physical body behind (the flesh) and enter the spiritual realm (the soul.) Within the spiritual realm, you are not bound by the physical limitations. Thus, time travel, traveling at light speed can happen. Sadly though, once you enter the spiritual realm by dying physically in the flesh; You'll be judged and your eternal resting place will then be decided according to your actions while alive in the flesh. Your works will then be rewarded back to you, rather it be eternal life or eternal damnation. You reap what you sow.

Ho-ho-ho. Saturday night, back from work and relaxing on linustechtips. Reading through forums and there are certain things that members do on here that I can't stand. So I'll start it off by creating a thread and listing things you can't stand. Of course, lets not point anyone out or call anyone out, but keep it very oriented to what it is you can't stand.

What is it you can't stand?

I can't stand people who take things too seriously. Every joke or humor you make, they seem to never understand and just assume you actually mean what you say. Seriously, chill, we're just here to have fun. I don't need you getting defensive over something that is meant as humor (doesn't harm anyone.)

I can't stand the like buttons. Like buttons have its pros, but lets be honest... Some people use it as a way of indirectly attacking you or a way of saying f-you. You're not neutral when you join a side of two people arguing by clicking the like button. It shows your stance and that you support his insults or joined his side.

I can't stand when people get offended too easily. Can never have a civil discourse if the start of the conversation you're already offended.

If you feel less of a man because you don't or can't grow a beard? You should feel that way. But worry not! Anyone can grow a full beard in 2020, simply applying minoxidil 5% solution for an entire 6 months. Yes, that's right... baby smooth cheeks can have his beard in the year 2020.

Warned about this 3 years ago and 5 years ago. Where are the haters at now? Smelled this scam from the start.

It's just sad how many people don't understand the concept of legal scams and illegal scams. Star citizen is working in the scope of legality to avoid lawsuits while still a scam, but operating legally. Take it how you will. Never buy into hype because at the end of the day, that's all it is... Just hype. It'll die down and expectations of the game will come crashing because it doesn't live up to your imagination. Even if the game is released, it'll never be what you think it would be. Sadly, by that time, they've already milked investors of their money and ran away with it.

Part of the marketing strategy to scam investors of their money, is to wait for hype to die down before disappearing. This way, there won't be a lot of backlash since everyone has already moved on 10 years from now. This is how whales eat shrimps on the daily in the market.

I've been scammed in the past and I can tell you without a doubt this is a scam. They are giving you just enough "updates" to keep you giving them money but they will never finish completing your car because there will always be another problem that requires more money from you.

You aren't stupid for falling for it because you want to trust people but in the real world people aren't trustworthy. You would be stupid for falling for it again though. Like with everything now always pay after the work has been complete, same goes with video games. There is a reason why they are asking for money to complete a project, if they can't complete it with their own money then they are either very bad at managing their money, out for your money or both. It's usually both.

c00face got a reaction from Jet_ski in Is Star Citizen a giant scam?
Topic is old, but I keep seeing people saying "Star Citizen" isn't a scam. How wrong can you be. Let me break down several types of scammers since I deal with them a lot as an investor and I want to shed light how these people operate in terms of "legality" and what they do to get by, by the skin of their teeth while still robbing you on your money. Robert is not a saint and he have in the past ripped people off of their money. That alone should give you a clear warning of his personality and what he's really after. Instead of trying fall for all the speculation talk, the features, this, and that... Understand that Robert has been accused of the same type of situation before.

Lets skip all the details and go straight to his bank account. How much is Robert banking off of this crowd-funding and what he makes selling speculative products? He's net worth is $76 Million in USD. Let that sink in for a bit once you understand that they do not have a working product and yet, they're selling speculative products that you don't even own nor are you guaranteed to it. Chris Roberts has no background in gaming, the industry of gaming, how it works, and how it is run. Once he received the crowdfunding, it's by law that he shows work towards that project in which he receive that funding for. In essence, he can claim to have started something, but never give you a working product, ever. They can keep this going year by year while still getting paid because morons are still purchasing their speculative products from their website and he's getting paid millions a year off your money, and you have nothing to show for it.

What is speculative product? Think Bitcoin, think cryptocurrencies, think tulip mania. All they need is hype and a bunch of deceitful words to "promise" you that they are "working" on something. I can go on-and-on about this situation and how regular normies get caught up in such hype and retardation, that they don't realize how they are in-fact being scammed while the scammers are doing it legally. Lets get something straight, they are working on the product, the problem is, they themselves know this game is a massive let-down and every hype BS they come up with to make the game more appeasing, is just that... BS. They will keep doing this, keep selling their speculative trash products until the game is finally released in 2030. By then, they already made their money, and it doesn't matter if the product is trash when it's finally released, they wouldn't give care because they made their money by scamming you legally for 20 years.

It's time to stop calling games like this, "legit" because it is not. Deception, fraud, and lies can all work under the legal system. Just because they're doing it legally, doesn't mean what they're doing isn't wrong. I suggest you all stop funding this game, stop purchasing their speculative products, until they DELIVER on their words. Until then, call it fraud and marketing scam.

c00face got a reaction from MultiGamerClub in (Solved) Experiencing "No video input/No signal", pc just idle's. Can it be the 1070?
GPU failures will cause PC to force a restart or force a shutdown. PC is just running idle while monitor display "no video input." That's not signs of GPU failure, could possibly be faulty ports or whatever cord your using or maybe just overlooked faulty monitor.

You'll need to run GPU Stress Tester to see if it is in-fact related to GPU under heavy load. So find a GPU Stress Tester and see what happens.

Part of underclocking your GPU, I wanted to know if your PC will perform normally when it's not underload. Also, getting that DVI cable will really help to determine if it's just bad video ports or just whatever cable you're running. DVI cable is essential anyways, should always have one laying around in times like this.
