Oh, so you allow in your universe the QA ex-engineer could lie about the bendgate issue to all of his colleagues and his seniors about the quality of the aluminium and potentially face lawsuit by his own employer, especially by a corporation like Apple, for what reason? Your reasoning doesn't make sense to me. Internal documents shows Apple knew about it, and they did nothing. If Apple engineer said that it was him, talking to his bosses and telling them that "over 3x worse bending is okay" and they disagreed would be a career suicide. 

Who is telling the truth? Mostly the guy who has no reason to lie?

No, I'm just saying without evidence you cannot determine if what someone tells you is the truth.  When anyone goes public about their experience behind a closed door, you have a choice, believe them on blind faith or ask for evidence.   Assuming a lawsuit is not evidence.

Grammar and spelling is not indicative of intelligence/knowledge.  Not having the same opinion does not always mean lack of understanding.

Yes, ask for evidence, that is mostly the internal (confidential) documents and the IP of the corporation. No reasonable person will give you the evidence publicly as he will be charged for IP theft and I guess NDA break. I think lawyers from Apple has already thought about it. What evidence from the corporation like Apple can you show to the world without risking repercussions?

So you agree you don't have any evidence, therefore you cannot know if they are lying or not.

Well, no, it's a claim, you can not know yet, as it is a matter of a lawsuit, we will know the truth and find the evidence. I guess he has some (internal Apple) files prepared to share with the court in the future, but at this point of time, no.

So an ex employee makes claims about his workplace, until you have evidence you can't know if they are true or not, or if he is misrepresenting the situation.

Do not EVER, allow your school system to go with Apple products. They avoid honoring the warranty like you cannot imagine. Even with bulk deployments under "accidental damage" warranties.

I personally wouldn't say they are doing good. Sure, when it comes to the sales in general and what not, they are doing fine, but I get the feeling that internally it ain't. Their marketing strategy is slightly becoming less effective then it used to be since more and more people are seeing the flaws it has, including their devices. While I don't really hate Apple, I don't like them either nowadays.

I think the “Get a Mac” campaign from 2006-2007 is Apple’s most successful ad campaigns ever. 

This is my favorite which I think still holds true with pre-built Windows 10 PCs especially laptops.

So,...  ignoring if Jobs did it better or not: We learned nothing new here, right?

We all knew Apple works like that. Even the most avid fanboys see the big pile of issues that keep showing up. They get fixed eventually usually, but most of the stuff would not happen with any sort of quality assurance. Just think about the current Chargegate.

Back on topic I’d say this is different in some areas. With MacOS, it has never been better and there have been some great strides, such as continuity and handoff, which are fantastic.

 

But you know, we used to get excited about some pretty radical stuff: Siri, a little assistant that fits in your pocket, a revolutionary screen that you can’t even see the pixels on. When the iPad came out, we really were blown away. 

 

But with Tim, the new products aren’t as good as they could be. The Apple Watch, when it came out, is a little fat, not to mention late to the party - and SLOW. 

 

For me the improvements are so benign, the new feature in Mojave is “dark mode”. Not quite much compared to spaces with amazing touchpad gestures.

 

It all comes down to the question (regarding tech progress), have we all got what we want in our devices? Necessity is what drives invention, so have we got what we need, and so marking needs to be much more pushy and flashy.

I mean, as far as LCD screens go, they are pretty nice. I think they bumped up the dpi on them for the new iPhone Xr (about time!). That said there isn’t much point in a higher DPI beyond what you can see - but marking it in a revolutionary manner is a bit extreme. Hopefully OLED will just be standard next year for iPhones.

I will agree after jobs died there has been a shift. Apple products have never been perfect but there are things that get past that Steve would have shot down instantly. A great example is a "Pro" laptop. It doesn't have any ports, thermal throttles, the touch bar is a gimmick, the keyboards break, they sacrificed performance and a usable keyboard for weight and looks. If they continue increasing the price of phones I don't think I nor others will buy them. We will create a rhythmic pattern of a mass upgrade and I think planned obsolesce is helping fight that.

People have issues with every iOS version. But iOS 12 is defiantly the best iOS release Apple has done. Even better than iOS 6 imo. And I think Mojave is essentially Snow Leopard 2.0.

You're right, they definitely made some mistakes and I'm not claiming he was any angel. He was a good marketer that gladly took the credit for every successful launch apple did, even though he had nothing to do with inventing it. But, besides the ceo being a scumbag, Apple was a good company to buy from because you could trust them. Minor problems here or there, but overall the best quality hands down, android was a steaming pile at that point. Then he dies, two years later an irreversible software update comes out that all but bricks every iPhone 4, which was the most popular. We then get bending phones Apple lies about having no idea, Verizon employees tell customers to never update their iPhone because it could kill it, this posts allegations, phones that can't add and bugs everywhere. 

 

TLDR, Apple was a better company with jobs. Still a scumbag, but an objectively better company

Fanboys are the worst thing to happen to the tech community World. Chief among them are Apple fanboys.
